LOTS of NON PRO PICS - I'm Back and Married, but...
I have seen a few pictures of myself taken by guests and I have to say that I really really dislike my gown. I am totally regretting it and wish I could go back and change it.I had had major issues with it as soon as it came in. Either the bridal shop I ordered it from sent the wrong measurements or the manufacturer screwed up - no one took blame - but it came in about 6 inches too long and waaaay too big on me. It wasn't an easy fix either because there was a pattern of lace on the dress that had to be altered as well. I took it to a seamstress who did a great job and the best she could with it. The dress was seriously a nightmare and caused me so much stress. In the end I trusted that it would be beautiful, but now that the wedding is over and I look back I just wish I had shelled out the dough for one of the pricier gowns I had tried on in the beginning since they flattered me so well and made me look amazing.
My gown made me look like I had no waist and it was all gappy in the front under my boobs. It''s not so bad from the side, but it's bad from the front. I'm so scared to see my proofs. I had actually lost about 10lbs before the wedding but you can't tell because the dress made me look 10lbs heavier. I am just kicking myself that I didn't run back to the shop where the pricier dresses were and just bought one off the rack while my dress was being altered.
I'm sorry girls, I just needed to vent. I can't stand the way the sash looks either. It looks messy and as if I tucked the top of my dress into the sash.
Here are a couple picks. I had wanted to wait to share pics of my wedding on LIW until I had gotten professional proofs, but I'm just too upset right now and I need to vent.
one pic is me with Ida881 - she's so sweet and stopped by before the ceremony to say hello.

Re: I'm married and I'm back, but I'm bumming out - pic
I think you look gorgeous!! We are always critical of ourselves...but you are a beaming bride and i think you look beautiful...only you will notice the little things...and an important thing DH has taught me over the years is 'to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference.' You are married and that is the most important thing...and congrats!!!!!!

What crack are you smoking and where can i get some? You are a gorgeous bride!! I looked at your pictures before I read your post and I could not see anything wrong after reading exactly what to look for I still don't see anything wrong. We are all our own worst critic.Way to go losing the weight I'm not sure what you looked like before but your arms look awesome.
No regrets they don't work!!!

Re: I'm married and I'm back, but - NON PRO PICS
Besides looking soooo pretty, I do notice the top looks kinda bunched. I'm being honest here. I can't tell the length of the dress though. Either way, I'm sure your husband loved the way you looked.
And besides, your a Mrs. now

thanks for your honesty, yes the top part that you're talking about is what's bothering me the most. I know there are other gowns out there, albeit much pricier than mine, that looked so much better on me. I'm 5'3' and weigh 142lbs but I look like I weigh 15lbs more because of the dress. Oh well! DH thinks I'm nuts, but my sister sees what I'm talking about too (sisters are good like that)
And yes, I'm a MRS. no matter how bunchy my gown was!

In all honesty, I can see what you're talking about with the bunching top...but you looked beautiful--buncy or not!The important thing is that you had a wonderful day and you looked gorgeous.

Re: NON PRO PICS - I'm Back and Married, but...
I understand your frustrations. We spend so much time and money on our wedding hoping everythign comes out perfect. I will be honest with you, I understand your concer for the top part of the dress, I think it could have been a little tighter, but these things don't matter now.My seamstress totally screwed me, chanrged me $450 on my dress when it was suppose to be capped at $200. THere wa a huge crease/bunch in the fabric right accross the bodice. My bstle completely broke during our first dance when DH twirled me (and he didn't even step on it) and the hook in the back of the dress ripped out and my zipper started coming undone in the middle of the dance floor
Thank god MIL rescued me.Yeah, it bothered me, yeah I'll probably talk to the dress store about it, but I'm married now to the love of my life who thought I looked like an angel on my wedding day!!
Do what you think you neeed to do but then LET IT GO!!!!!! Don't let it ruin your good memories!!!

Honestly, I see what you mean about the dress and it would bother me too, BUT the first thing I noticed about your pics was that you look incredibly happy and at the end of the day, that is all that matters!!!!

honey, first of all CONGRATS & Im so happy to see you here!2nd of all- honestly i absolutely LOVE your gown. its GORGEOUS.. totally my taste [we even had the same BM dresses
]my dress was also a bit long on me [i refused to get higher heels]
and my weight kept fluctuating so it was a bit loose on me too... mind you- the dress was made by my aunt from scratch... it was completely made to fit MY BODY and ya know what... it just didnt matter!
You are a BEAUTIFUL girl and you looked amazing!

Re: LOTS of NON PRO PICS - I'm Back and Married, but...
I can completely emapthize with you about the post-wedding dress regrets. I had so many issues with my dress being too small, too big, silk is natural so it is unforgiving blah blah blah.In the end I was happy with my gown, but I know that there is a dress out there that might have made me happier.
You looked radiant and while it stinks to have regrets about your wedding dress, trust the other ladies when they say it will not matter in the long run.
AND--take comfort in the fact that you can always do a day after shoot if you do not like the proofs.
