Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I am having a Sunday night wedding. But if I had a choice between Saturday daytime or Friday night. I'd go with Friday without a doubt!

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

If your budget allows Friday night, thats fine! Friday night is great! Those who love you will come no matter what day it is.

I am so happy I got a Saturday night wedding-It's PARTY TIME!!!!!!!!
I paid alot extra but thats why i waited longer to have it.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I'm doing Sat Day. My bridesmaids are coming in from out of town...they will probably have to take Friday off for the Rehersal dinner, didn't want them to to have to take Thursday off as well.

Some people can't take time off of work so went with Sat Day..

My biggest issue is what to do with everone after the wedding, it still will be pretty early...

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I am a big fan of night time weddings. I really wanted Sat night, that is why I chose a place that was affordable enough for me to have one.

If I could not do Sat night, then Fri night would be my next choice.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I went with Saturday Day because I have 1/2 of my guests coming from out of town (FH's family). I didnt think it would be fair to ask them to be here on a Friday night. They would have to take too much time off work. Im also having an outdoors ceremony and I think high noon is a great time to be married

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

We picked Friday night, we like the night time atmosphere, our cocktail hour starts at 8:00 which many have told us that that is too late but I think it will give people enough time to get ready without having to leave work early and so what that the party runs till 1:30 in the morning most of our guests don't work Sat.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I've been to both and both have their merits. If the place for the day wedding offered something that could be enjoyed in the daytime - scenery, I would go day, otherwise Friday night

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

How many people on your guest list are from out of town? For people traveling, it would be much harder to come on a Friday. They would have to miss work. A Saturday daytime wedding is much more convenient for travellers. If your guest list is all local though, go for Friday night, it does add ambiance!

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

We just couldn't see paying AT LEAST $10 more for the same exact thing on a Sat nite. We recently went to a daytime wedding and it just didn't FEEL like wedding to us (no offense to anyone)

We just felt a Friday was best for us. If the people that work Friday don't care enought to leave work a little early (church at 5) they probably won't show up on Sat morning either JMO

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I say pic the day that is best for you. Like you said you really like the evening ambiance. People will come no matter what. I mean I would not miss a friend's wedding just b/c it was on a Friday night.

We had a Friday night. We went to a Saturday day wedding and they sometimes have to rush you out for the set-up for the next wedding.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I really do not think the day or what time of the day makes any difference. If you have boring people, who will not get up and dance then it could be midnight. If you have a happening crowd and it is 6am, you will have a party. The DJ or band has to have their stuff together too, they will make or break your event. We had a Saturday afternoon wedding and this was by choice and the General Mgmr or Chateau came in to watch all the happenings, he said he has never heard a day time wedding so pumped. Its all in your crowd and your DJ. So pick the day and the time that works best for you and your FI

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

Just wanted to add, I did go to a daytime wedding and I had a good time. There is just something about nighttime weddings that I love.

I agree with Shamma,it depends on the dj and the people. If you have duds, they will be duds no matter what time or day you pick.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

I say Friday night.. I like the evening ambiance. Saturday afternoon is not the same or as dressy IMO. Also, if you are the 1st booking in a hall (they have 2 on Saturdays) they will be pushing you out the door so they could get the room cleaned & turned around for the Sat night.

Re: FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WEDDING!

For even a better rate, look into the night before Thankgiving. It is a Wednesday and it is the biggest party night of the year. Most people have the 4 day weekend. It was recommended to me by a DJ.
