Does anyone else have really loud neighbors?

My FI and I live in an apartment and my neighbors are soooooooo loud. The people below us have a toddler who does nothing but scream, run and cry all day. And the worst part about it is he gets going at 11:30 at night every night. Last night I was up close to 1:00 am listening to him yelling and then the other neighbors put their tv on really loud to drown out the sound.

I understand having a toddler is a lot of noise-but you have to be considerate of your neighbors.

I'm mentioning this because as I type this he is doing laps around the apartment. I hate this place.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Same yet different boat. Our next door neighbors FIGHT all the time They have a 13 and a 7 year old who bawl when the parents fight, and I mean chair throwing, b*tch slapping fights
We have to call the cops on them sometimes
This morning at 6 am the wife was banging on our door, and asked FH to call 911. The cops came and made the husband pack up his bags and leave.
I feel so sorry for the children

Besides that we have the quack upstairs who thinks the apartment building is her own disco. We fixed her good Anyway, her choices are now to keep it down or get evicted She's been a very good girl lately

Call the police. Thats what I do, my f*&* neighbors dogs dont shut the hell up. He leaves them out all day and night I swear tehy bark for hours and hours and hours......

Fortunately I don't have this problem anymore but in the past....oh boy.

I once woke up early on a saturday morning to my landlord (who lived above me) having a screaming fight w/ his wife...calling her b*tch, wh*re etc....

I lived alone at the time but all I remember is saying out loud that if my husband EVER spoke to me like that, he'd be going out the window head first...

Our neighbor likes to BLAST his car stereo...it is HORRIBLE hearing that bass 5:30 in the MORNING

Our upstairs neighbors have their tv so loud that sometimes I can hear theirs better than mine.

And the downstairs neighbor thinks that we walk to loud, and bangs on her ceiling with a broom or something if we walk at all past 11pm.

I can not wait until we move after we get married.

The people who live upstairs from us are so
f&*^%$^ loud. The first year we had to fight with them b/c they didn't have carpeting and the wife puts on platform boots at like 5 am and walks around in them until she leaves for work. Finally they got it, but only in the bedroom. They also vaccuum 3 times a day, it's crazy. The husband is a big, bald, biker, so DH doesn't want to have a confrontation with him. Thank God we're moving.

This is my life! We live in an apartment and our landlords live downstairs. I can hear every single word of all of their conversations. Not that they are excessively loud, but I guess it is just poorly insulated. It is so annoying. Plus they have a 2 year old and a 4 year old who make noise all the time and then to make it worse the mom yells at them all day long! Sometimes I just want to bang on the floor and yell shut up!!! but I can't because they are my landlords. They are really nice, but I don't need to hear all the details of their lives. It is very funny sometimes because their son has the same name as my FH so sometimes when she calls the kid, if FH is in another room he thinks I am calling him! Also when she calls me on the phone, I can hear it echoing. I want to tell her to hang up I can hear her just fine!

Well, funny this should come up today. Our next door neighbors moved so the apartment is being renovated by management. Apparently they do not have to abide by the same rules we do since they are using power tools at 7.30 in the morning!!! I am so worked up over it - we got a letter because we hung curtains at 6pm on a sunday night but then we are just shareholders, not employees

We have an upstairs neighbor that sounds like she rearranges her furniture every other night around midnight.

Then our other next door neighbor, who is a real sweet heart, feels he must share his love for the beatles any and all nice warm days out by playing his stereo loud enough for the whole block to hear. Luckily it's winter so he has ben pretty quiet lately

Dont these people have any idea how loud and inconiderate they are???

We also have a dog problem w/ the white trash neighbor that lives in the house behind mine. She leaves her poor boxer out all day/night, snow/rain/etc... and the poor dog barks and whines constantly. I sleep during the day so I expect some noise but this has gotten out of hand. I finally called the ASPCA on her and I guess they went their because the dog hasn't been barking. I don't understand why people get animals if they don't want to take care of them.

I'm happy to know that I'm not alone in this. I've thought about going and saying something to them, but I don't want to start a war with them and worry about every noise I make. I understand how difficult it must be for them, but I'm reaching my breaking point. If it keeps up over the next couple of weeks, I think I am going to say something.

Christine: Our building is kinda old, so FH has found all the squeaky spots in the floor and shifts his weight back and forth when she starts hitting the ceiling.

I could understand if we were being loud, but we pretty much sit on the couch all nite, and then get up to go to the bathroom. It's not like I'm working out and constantly moving. Grrrrr

I DO I DO I DO!!!!! I have a women who is mid to late 30's who BLARES her tv and radio and has people screaming and laughing until 330am on a tues or wed night. She is a teacher and she KNOWS I study in my apt. In fact at first I thought I was just being picky - BUT I had friends over who asked how I can watch tv when or live when you can hear I MEAN EVERYTHING!!! and I mean EVERYTHING she does downstairs.
The buildings rule is 85% carpeting in your apt to lower the noise -she has 0%. Once 2 years ago I asked her to please lower the volume slightly and SHE TURNED IT UP. I have had 2 other people live downstairs from me since I have been living here and we never had any complaints or problems either way - In fact they said asked me if I was ever home since they never heard me.
It has been so bad a couple of times we were tempted to call the police but my neighbors and I doubt they will do anything because her boyfriend (who is the loudest of the group) works for the FBI - and he tells us whenever he gets in trouble he just flashes his badge.
You would think a teacher would understand about studying - But even so I don't need to hear her having S** that is just too much!

In my last apartment we had neighbors that screamed at each other all the time...I didn't really care...except that it was in Russian...and I couldn't understand what they were screaming about (the noisy gossip that I am )

although my roommate and I were served a complaint notice b/c we walked on the CARPET with heeled shoes...and put the toilet seat down too loud in the middle of the night...(I am completely serious...even the coop board laughed at this one)


now...we are so quiet...we had one halloween party...there were tops 20 people there...and our downstairs neighbors called our landlord to call us at 11 PM on a sat...saying that it sounded like a frat party???

I am not a partier at all...and most nights I'm in bed at 10!! I couldn't believe that they couldn't **** up one night...that really wasn't loud!!

sorry to vent...I guess I'm the one you guys are complaining about!!

Our Apt is the second floor of a house. Our downstairs neighbors are also renting. It's a father & son. Well the kid is 20 so for the past 3 1/2 years I have to deal w/ his stupidness!! I HATE HIM!!! He is obnoxious & spoiled!! (His father blames himself. his wife died when the son was 15-16 so he's spoiled him for years) He has no manners!! His Father is getting re-married & they should be moving soon! THANK-GOD!!!! But, of course the father stays w. the fiance some weekends so jacka*s thinks he can have partys!! Of course his stupid friends come over at 11:00pm! and the music & yelling begin. I & my FH have banged on that door on more then one occasion. My FH has also had MANY a argument w/ this kid that I thought would lead to the kid in the hospital!! The moron knows we have a son you OBVIOUSSLY will not be awake at that time. He has no regard for ANYBODY!!! I've even woke up at 5:00am & the party is STILL going on!! (Yes, I know we've all done this. But not when they were neighbors involved! (at least I didn't) The Father has finally woke up to his son being the complete a$$ that he is so every now & then you hear the yelling. I mute the tv & listen & Laugh!!

Believe me I am telling the landlord she better be carefull who she gets to live there next!

We live in a basement apartment and our landlords constantly pound on the floor. They have 3 children and the kids are constantly fighting. They have no consideration for us. Me and DH get up early in the morning and they are still pounding on the floor till 1am!! I cant wait to get a house!!

we live in an apartment building and we're the loud neighbors, but only at night when we are in the bedroom

And everyday we know its 2pm without even looking at the clock because there is some crazy pounding going on in the apartment above ours. window shaking, ceiling sounds like its going to cave in, pounding. then all of a sudden the radio starts blasting....hmmmm could they be playing twister

Why don't you call the noise control hotline....

Call your local PCT and they will give you the #..

They send a cop car out and the people can get up to a 1200 summons....

Now that would make me be quiet!
