Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?

Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
I noticed that up top there is 03 board! Almost every bride on here is 03 and 04! That is not fair to any 05 brides who come on... I don't mind them not wanting to sector out by months anymore- I cam understand how some girls feel slighted that they don't have a more specialized board... But the only way those boards up there can fly sucessfully is if they clear the BHB and I hope they are not doing that! I LOVE this board!

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
I don't mind the separate ones of course (I'm a may bride) BUT I use BHB boards the MOST. Don't get rid of this LIWEDDINGS !!!!!!!!!!
This is our Central Meeting area !!!!!!

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
I don't like the separate boards for different brides. But being a newlywed, I'm not affected by it much.I think its asking for trouble though. It segments the group, create competition, and requires multiple posting.
It takes away from the sense of community - everyone sharing ideas with each other, regardless of your wedding date. I never look on the May, 04 and 03 boards.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
I personally would prefer to keep the BHB board, and have the months under their own threads...I am glad that '03 board was created but given a choice, I would not have made any separate boards based on timelines, only based on topics (i.e. the storyboard or the slimdown)

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Once again, I will say the BHB board is absolutely necessary and provides the best sense of community. I do want to pipe in though that the Newlywed board does not stop Newlyweds from coming by and helping us out, why should the 'monthly' boards? The reason some of you don't stop by the May 03 or 04 boards is b/c it doesnt apply to you, and the Brides that frequent there know that. WHen they want to speak to everyone, they all post on the BHB board, where everyone goes.
I think that with the growing popularity of LIWeddings, it would be quite difficult to contain everything on ONE board anyway. Sometimes it's so hard to keep up with the posts, b/c 10 new ones will pop up at the same time. So making a few separations may not be such a bad idea at all. It will keep the main BHB board somewhat organized and not overwhelming.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Thanks Lizlen
Obviously being a Sept bride, I agree with your keen thoughts
but if that board is intended to be as it says and is not a mistake, I respectfully disagree with LI Weddings... As an example, a young lady just posted her first post up there asking about a dj,, it was her first post and no one has answered her... I am unsure how to help her, so I will refer her back here..... Too many questions that can't be fully answered and addressed...

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
I saw that post marissa
She is new, so just figured she'd go where it said 03 Brides. That doesnt really happen on May, maybe if the board said Sept, that may not have happenned. She should definitely be referred to BHB.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Liz,I think what I was referring to is a bit different issue:
A person goes to the boards for 2 main reasons:
1. to get opinions/help
2. to give opinions/help
I think what I was trying to say in the 2003 brides post is that a 'May' bride won't necessarily go onto BHB board often enough to offer opinions/help.
So now, when I ask for help, I get help from all brides, except 2004, may and 2003. Does that make sense? So then if not enough opinions is offered, then I have to repost my post on other boards in case people have ideas.
Note that above scenario is just an example.
I have no problems with May brides asking for opinions on the BHB board, but I have recently found that I don't get as much help/feedback from the bhb board as I previously had received. And I have seen a slowdown in traffic.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Alina, I definitely hear you, but I can only speak about my May Brides when I say I disagree. I am on BHB the most, and I give help all the time on BHB boards, I'm on the main board more than I am on May, b/c that's where the majority of the traffic is.I know that the other May Brides frequent BHB quite alot also. Trust me, I didnt get over 4000 posts from the May board.
But I do hear what you're saying and definitely respect your opinion.
But I do think that sometimes there is sooo much traffic on BHB and the reason you may not get many answers is not b/c of the lack of Brides on the board, but b/c the thread gets pushed to the 2nd, 3rd pages b/c of new threads.
Sometimes I post something, and within 1/2 hour it's already on page 2 b/c of so many new topics.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Both good and fair points! Great response to Alina, Lizlen. THIS is what a successful debate should look like.... When fights occur all the time on this board, we should emulate this thread.... Alina, I do believe though that there is a lot of action on these boards...

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
Marisa and Liz:I think we both understand each other's opinions and in this case perhaps agreeing to disagree for now may work well. I am hoping more brides will express their opinions so that the best compromise is created.

Re: Are they getting rid of the BHB Board?
we stared with one separate board, and now there are 3. Where does it end? Will there be a separate board for each popular month for the next two years? That could get crowded up there!I hear you about posts getting lost, its hard to keep up with the BHB board, but I just wonder where this all is going?
