Cocktail Hour Flowers
I was discussing flowers with my floral designer and I am very organized and thought I had it all figured out: centerpieces, my bouquet, brides maids bouquets, etc. Then she asked me what I wanted on the tables during cocktail hour and I was blank. I had never even considered that I needed flowes on the cocktail tables. They are very small tables fitting approx. 3 people so whatever it is it must be small. What is everyone else doing? Can you post pics? Thanks girls!

I am not planning to have flowers on my tables during the cocktail hour. I do not feel it is necessary.

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
If I do anything, it will be one flower in a small bud vase. Keep it simple and innexpensive...It's not worth spending a lot on this...People will be too busy eating and talking to even look at the centerpieces.

I didn't even discuss this with my florist. It's an hour--why bother?

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
I'm having one gerbera (sp?) daisy floating in a vase that looks like a fish bowl on each of the tables.

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
I had gerber daisies floating in bowls on all the tables for our cocktail hour! I also had an arrangement on our placecard table and on the grand piano. Only cost a few hundred more, and to me it made the room look gorgeous!

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
Its not necessary at all but we will have some flowers that come with the hall so we'll probably do a single gerbera daisy in a 4x4x4 cube with some marbles in the bottom - they florist also has these underwater tea lights that are different colors, so we'll have blue lit water and those will be around the tables in the cocktail and at the bar and escort card/gift tables. Just a nice touch

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
You don't have to do this if you don't want... most people wont notice.
IF you want you could do:
Votives or a bubble bowl with one open rose head floating in there.

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
I don't have any plans for flowers during the CH - besides, I think the RH decorates it for us. Regardless, it's such a short period of time that everyone is spending catching up with others they haven't seen, so I don't think it would even be noticed if there were no CPs.

You are absolutely right, this is not necessary my RH added small candle votives you can ask your florist to sprinkle some petals on the table. But honestly its not necessary at all; almost a waste of money.

or just leave it out altogether

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
my florist actually told me that it wasnt such a great idea - i couldnt believe it especially since she would be making $$ - people are only in there for an hour, and most people move them because the tables are just not big enough - i would save the money to splurge on something else

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers
For just an hour, if its going to cost you more money, I say forget it!
My RH puts a round vase with a floating flower at each table, so check if they offer anything at your RH first..
If you really want to do something, what about something like that or a single bud vase? Or maybe even some votive candles?!
