Question for those who own co-ops

For those of you who own co-ops do you have to have homeowners insurance or some sort of insurance for your home? If so how much is it? Thanks!

Re: Question for those who own co-ops

I don't own a co-op, but I work in insurance. You can get co-op insurance, it isn't too expensive, and you can usually combine it with your auto and then get a rider to cover your jewelery (e-ring, wedding band, etc.). Sometimes the more policies you have through your insurance the cheaper the rate is.

Re: Question for those who own co-ops

Thanks cause FH & I just put an offer on one and we forgot to ask the homeowners about this and we were wondering how much that would run us. We figured it wouldn't be too much, since homeowners insurance for a house isn't terrible but we were curious.

Re: Question for those who own co-ops

We have a co-op policy through Travelers and its about $400. The premium really depends on what the amount of coverage is that you require. With co-op coverage, its contents only and we also have a personal liability portion.
