if you go to classique dont go to katie joe - not sure if she still works there, she probably does not, but i used to work with her back in the day at another salon and she wasnt that great
i heard that Bea from BeaBeautiful is supposed to be a good make up artist but i have never been there so im not sure.....but SI wedding forums talk about her alot

if you go on the staten island newspaper website (www.silive.com) there is a wedding and engagement forum...i peek at it once in awhile....
oh i thought it was a site like this i was gonna say where was it when i was planning and looking all over for SI hair and makeup.

Ok well tomorrow is helen's wedding and I am a BM. Just getting a wash and blow dry for hair bc its real short and just cut it again yesterday so not much else i can do. But i am definitely getting my make up done. I thought i would go to christie's & co. Still might go but trying to think of other options. i was wondering if i should do it in SI instead. DH and i are leaving early from queens to check into the hotel and get ready there.
I personally cant think of anyone that is real good with make up in astoria or forest hills, christies is the only place that comes to mind. Do you know of any other places?
Or if you know a real good place in SI, i might get it done there.
what time? i went to this guy charged me 30 buks and my face came out GREAT lol

I wouldn't switch. If I found a place I really like why take the chance? Try Lisa at Christie's I really liked her!
I REALLY like her! She'd done my make-up before for weddings and it comes out awesome!

well i ended up making an appt at christies & Co. I have no idea who is doing it though. Ive had my make up done there before but the girl left and i am taking whomever is available hahaha, but im trusting them.
I had to go with christie's instead of a place in SI bc if we hit alot of traffic then i might be real late for an appt and set me back and might be late for pics. At least this way i know what time i will be there and what time ill be done.

are you talking about someone at christie's? bc thats how much they charge for regular make up and airbrush is $60. I made an appt for 11am

YES, i definitely will post a review and lots of pics. We are taking pics on their grounds, ceremony is at the hilton and reception obviously lol so ill have alot to say about nicotras.

I think Nicky at Space in Astoria is phenomenal. I love how she did my makeup for my son's christening. I'm not a big fan of Christie's makeup to be honest with you but that could be just the two artists I had. One came straight from MAC and made me look like a drag queen and the other was just not listening to what i wanted.
Nicky at space hit the nail on the head. And it lasted all night.

but i have another guy Mike @ the queens center mall who does great make up - especially with the eyes! it wasn't airbrush like Dimitry's but i couldn't compare -and he charged 30 buks! can't beat it...

Sorry!  My laptop was so slow it only loaded the first page of your post and Ididn't realize you had booked until after i posted. Like i said, my Christie's experience might have just been a freak happening because my girlfriends have come out looking nice... my makeup girl had just started there that day and I swear she had a history in costume makeup because or my Godson's christening I looked like i could have been in the remake of "the bride of frankenstein"!! 
I think SoVic should do makeup! i think it looks great in her avatar!

its ok not a problem. Its good to know theres people in astoria who do make up well. Anytime my friends and i need to get make up done, we'd prefer to do it in astoria but never really know of any place good. I have 4 weddings within the next 4 weeks, 2 of them this weekend lol so i might need it in the near future, thank you

I would go with who you've been to before. Even with the backtracking, it will probably be easier-you'll know what to expect. Yay for Helen's wedding-I hope she has a great day!!!
