Did you change your name at work
My company doesnt change our email address if your name has changed - therefore my maiden name will still be my email address.Should I start signing things as my new name? Does everyone go by their maiden name still??

Re: Did you change your name at work
I still go by my maiden.I'll officially change it when my license expires in November... work email will change as well.
ETA: I'd start signing my married name if I officially changed it - regardless of what work email address is..

Re: Did you change your name at work
Yes, it was hard at first to start signing my new name, it took awhile for others to get used to it too!! They even forget I have a first name and call me Mrs. It's still weird to hear so I always look up thinking they are asking for MIL.

It's the same for me. My email will be in my maiden name, but everything else will be my married name.

Re: Did you change your name at work
they actually changed my email address at work to show my married name, and linked w/ the former email address so i can still receive emails under both names. but other than my nameplate, everything has been changed to my married name.

no- I left it as is. I didn't really care. This way I dont have to change my email and confuse the people I work for.

I guess I feel wierd since my email is different than my name. O well nothing I can do about it. I already changed my name so I might as well start using it. It will be to confusing for me to use different names anyway

Re: Did you change your name at work
I didn't change my name at work and now I wish I had...I introduce myself by my maiden name all day long so when it comes time to use my married name.. I always pause or forget to use it!

Re: Did you change your name at work
Well I hyphenated my name so they could've changed my email at work but it would've been super long to write out so I told them not to. Though I changed it on my paycheck and any documents I sign, most people either call my by my maiden name, or DH's last name, rarely do they say it hyphenated, it must be too long to say.

Re: Did you change your name at work
i did it and it has confused a lot of parents and kids (i'm obviously a teacher) I feel like I just answer to both for now. I refer to myself constantly as my maiden name and my new class corrects me constantly. They also correct all the old kids and the teachers as well. My old students from last year mostly call me by my maiden name. I miss my old name i feel like I do not identify with my new name. Its just odd to go from a super irish last name to a chinese one.

Re: Did you change your name at work
I did-I tried to hyphenate it first but it didn't work out too well between social security and all that paperwork so I just changed it. My email was changed to reflect my new name and I got a new ID tag. It's hard...a lot of my former students and current students call me by my maiden name and I still identify with that more than my new one (I'm a teacher too). Still having an identity crisis

Re: Did you change your name at work
For the last 4 months I kept my maiden name at work, but now I'm thinking of hyphenating it. I haven't converted over to my new last name for work at all though.
