Question re Diamond wedding band
I went last night to pick out my weding band and basially decided on either a 5 stone or a 7 stone diamond and platinum wedding band. The stones are what she called ' point 8' which I think means .08...these are little diamonds, nowhere near a .80 size.My questions IS: The 5 stone ring is exactly the same width from end to end as my engagement ring. In other words, it goes from sapphire end to sapphire end (my side stones) and measures perfectly.
The 7 stone ring, of course, is about 2 little stones too large to match the width of the engagement ring. Am I crazy to tell her to leave off the 2 diamonds (the cost is negligible) and make it match? Or is ok and kinda cool and funky to have a diamond band that does not exactly fit or match?
I thought for sure I was sold on the 5 stone last night but woke up wondering if I should get 7....

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
If you like the 7 stone, I say get it, it doesn't have to match perfectly, it's all about what you like!

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I am also getting a 5 stone ring with .1 diamonds in it. I had it made to match the exact width of the engagement ring. I just prefer everything to match but I'm sure the 7 stone ring will look awesome as well.I am actually getting 2 5 stone rings and having one above and below the engagement ring : ).

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I haven't picked out my wedding band yet but I think I would prefer a ring that is the same length as my e-ring. If the 7 stone looks great, however, go for it. The more diamonds the better. lol

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I'm going through the same thing! My ring was custom-made and my fingers are tiny (size 4.5!) so the five stone is just a little too big to match. I decided to have a custom-made 4-stone to match the width. I prefer it to match the width, but that's JMO!

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I also have 2 rings. One is a diamond band that I wear with my engaement ring, and a second one that is the exact same thing as hubby's ring. You can never have too many diamonds. which ever looks nicer, and you can fit into your budget.

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I'd get the 7, this way it looks more eternal than the 5 and it should still match from saphire to saphire underneath

Re: Question re Diamond wedding band
I would go with the 7....I don't think it has to match at all....(but that's just me)Think also about what you want it to look like when you don't have your e-ring on.
I got a pave diamond band that goes all the way around so when I want to wear it alone it looks really good too.
I bet they are both gorgeous, so go with what your gut tells you....
