Re: What is the division of labor ...
I usually do the cooking and a portion of the cleaning, Joe does the laundry and usually takes the trash out but if I am going out than I will do it. We are really good at sharing the household cleaning I feel. But it would be nice if he knew how to cook so that when I get home from work it isn't 8:30 before I get to sit down.

Very easy...there is none
I do pretty much everything DH..uh not so much. He does take out the trash most of the time and on a rare occasion will do a load of laundry. I don't mind though to be honest I have some control issues

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I clean, do laundry and cook - he helps to cook and since we've been married, he's been doing a lot more cooking, which I looooove. He is a better cook than me, more imaginitive and also not so worried about it being healthy - which makes it taste better but that means it's bad for me
Our laundry is in the basement, which, since we live on the 2nd floor, we can only access from leaving the house, going around the back and then down the basement steps ... and when I ask him to, he'll go down there and put the wet laundry in the dryer or bring up the dry laundry ... it's such a PAIN not having it in the house and when it's dark out I hate going down there myself.
And he takes out the trash and cleans the apt. when I have no time to do so or am very stressed out about having people over, etc. Like before the wedding, when people were staying at our house when we were at the hotel and we had no time to clean the week of the wedding, when my grandma died - he took a day off to clean
So I guess it's 65/35 or so when all is said and done.

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I have to say, as far as cooking is concerned, DH is much better than I am, plus he gets home earlier than I do, so he cooks. I do the laundry, and everything else we split.

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I cook, clean and do laundry. DH will do the dishes sometimes after I cook but that just includes what is on the table bc I do the pots and pans as I go.

Because I am in school, DH does most of the cleaning and laundry and I do the cooking and once in a while i clean. He is the sweetest, however, he says he is keeping a tab so that I can repay him once I have a lawyer job...Joke is on him...cause am going into public interest...i'll be poor 4eva!!

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I clean the bathroomI cook 99% of the time
I do the laundry
I clean all of the 'seasonal stuff' i.e. windows, frig, freezer
DH dusts, swiffers and vacuums
DH handles all of the trash
DH washes the dishes
DH carries the laundry to and from his mom's for me. lol
If DH cooks, I clean up afterwards.
I do all of the BIG cleaning b/c I have major OCD and things cant be TOO clean. DH does the stuff I hate or cant do, i.e. dusting since I'm allergic.
DH handles all of the finances since I do it as part of my job. We both go food shopping together.
Its as close to 50/50 as we can be.

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I do mostly everything, except the cat litter and the trash. DH has always done that. But now as my pregnancy has caused me to get bigger and more uncomfortable he's been picking up the slack very well.

Re: What is the division of labor ...
I usually do the cooking and the laundry....Dh and I both do dishes. DH takes out the recycling and the garbage and gets the mail in. DH is remodeling the kitchen right now so I don't mind taking on the bulk of the household chores but when it is done things will be more equitable lol except for cooking...I like to cook so I don't mind doing most of that

Re: What is the division of labor ...
he does laundry and most of the cooking; i'll cook sometimes on the weekend if i'm home. I clean up after him b/c he's a slob, but we have a cleaning lady. I'm never home b/c of work and school so it's great that he does the laundry etc. I'll pay him back someday...Welcome New Vendors
