We have very different tastes in music, but we both love Queen...and You're My Best Friend seemed perfect.

'After All' was at first an inside joke when we were just best friends, then the lyrics seemed to fit us perfectly. Before FH and I were dating, he confessed that he was in love with me and he told me that he always pictured me to be the only girl he could marry and for that to be our wedding song.. so we decided to bring that to life.

Long story short -

Part of our first date was at a pool hall and while we were there, Aerosmith's 'Angel' came on the juke box. It's one of my favorite songs. So I was singing along to it. FH said it was the only time I smiled the whole night Fast forward to the end of the night, we're going up to pay and I look in my purse and there's the Aerosmith 'Big Ones' cd in my purse.....it wasn't there before. Earlier in the night, FH told me he was going to the bathroom. Turns out, he actually went to his car, where he had the cd, got it, and snuck it in my purse. Of course one of the songs on the cd is 'Angel' I told him I was going to copy it and give it back. Well, that was ten years ago, and I still have the cd

I always figured our song was going to be Open Arms by Journey because DH loves loves loves journey. But I love mb20 & lifehouse, so I always thought it would be nice to have one of their songs (You & Me by Lifehouse being the front runner).

I asked DH to find a song because he's really into 80s songs and told me very early on in our relationship that music has a huge meaning to him and he gets very sentimental from it.

Fast forward to about a month before the wedding... still not decision. Then he sent me a link to the youtube video for Bad English's When I See You Smile... I smile ALL THE TIME -- I used to get made fun of at work for it (and once got in trouble for it!) and I really try to smile as much as possible. He said it was exactly how he feels about me. It was so sweet, and the song was perfect for us.

Side note.... two weeks before the wedding, I called PLJ and requested it at lunchtime and they put me on the air! I was in my office smiling with tears running down my face listening to our wedding song on the radio wondering what the future would hold. It was so sweet.

I heard Joshua Radin's 'Today' on the Ellen DeGeneres Show when Ellen was showing her wedding slideshow. I LOVED the song, and I bought both of his albums right away. FH became a Joshua Radin fan because of my constant talking about how beautiful his songs are. We were driving one day and listening to that song, and FH commented on how that would be the perfect wedding song...he read my mind :).

We picked 'At Last' because I will be almost 40 years old when I am married for the very first time and FH spent the last 25 years unhappily married to someone else. So At Last we have found each other.

The first movie we saw in the theater was A Lot Like Love and our song was in it. It has been our song since so it just made sense to have it as our wedding song.

I was talking to FH one day about the songs we want played at the wedding and he said he'd like 'She Will Be Loved' by Maroon 5 to be our wedding song.

Cee-lo's Country Love because of the lyrics. The chorus goes '...nobody is crazy enough to love me but you', which pretty well sums it up.

Yay, I love reading these. Keep 'em coming because I'm still looking for one. I've always loved 'After All' growing up because it was Felicia and Frisco's wedding song on General Hospital. I always said well if I have that song it's gonna have to be someone I break up with and get back together with. Me and FH have had a lot of ups and downs, but....my mom picked it for her wedding song AND it's the recap song on my sisters wedding video. She's giving me a hard time about picking it. Uhhhhh, drama!!

I'm still trying to pick one too. But we think we might use 'chasing cars' by snow patrol

only problem is the title makes me think of puppies lol but i love the song but it's a weird title.

he put it on a cd for me back when started dating (7 years ago!). it's Astral Weeks by Van Morrison and if you listen closely to the words it's not quite a love song, but since it sounds pretty and it's so meaningful to us we're using it! oh and it was playing when he proposed to me - purposefully, of course.

We met on myspace, and his song on his page was 'You're the best' from Karate kid, so he suggested 'Glory of Love' as a joke, but I went with it.

About 1 month after we started dating FH had sent me his good morning e-mail (as he does every morning) and In it he wrote 'you are truly a Love Of A Lifetime just like the song. The next time he came to pick me up he had it playing in his car. it has always been our song so it became our 1st dance song

We had a hard time with this....but FH heard a song, had me listen to it and I liked it. We don't have 'a song' so we just had to pick something nice we both liked.
