Can we talk gym memberships?
I pay $50 a month and I go once a week.I keep saying I'll go more, but I'm not sure I will... but then its going to snow and I'm not going to want to run outside.
Do you have a gym membership? Do you go? If you were me would you keep it?

Re: Can we talk gym memberships?
I go 6 days a week. I can't imagine NOT using my gym membership. I would try to get yourself to use it...maybe try for 3 days a week...but i fyou decide you are just not able to then cancel it and maybe invest in some exercise dvds?

Yeah if your going once a week DVDs might be a cheaper way to go. I have a membership for classes. I had a three month membership and have been there about 4 times in two months because then I got sick with the stomach issue. I am going to try to start going again though. But I always find DVDs are great when I don't want to buy a membership.

Re: Can we talk gym memberships?
I live in Hicksville, I go to xsport. I work mon-friday 9:00-7:00 and DH leaves for work at 9:30 (when I pass out). I just cant figure out how I would go during the week without waking up at 5.I only use the machines. I've taken classes and I like them but my work sched is pretty unpredictable so its hard to plan anything.
Maybe I really do need to start getting up at 5.

Re: Can we talk gym memberships?
The past month and a half I've been slacking on the gym-work has been insane and all over the place (its a valid excuse I swear). Normally I go 3-4 times a week (average), but because my work schedule is never the same it's hard to get a routine. So some weeks I may get there once and others 6 times.I pay for the gym in full, once a year. Its a small privately owned gym and I absolutely love it
If you think it's a waste of money, and you're not going then cancel the membership-OR push yourself to get there at least 3 times a week.
If it helps, google fitness blogs like fitsugar.com. They are really motivating and get you excited to get in the gym.
Good luck!

what if you joined a gym that was closer to your job and that way you could workout and head straight to work? Or what if you went on your lunch hour?

What if you did this-no matter what, work out on saturday and sunday (your days off), and then just 1 day during the week?
You'd get in 2 rigorous days and then get a good mid-week workout.

And trust me, if 1 of your 3 days a week at the gym are a spin class, you are really rockin. I feel like 1 spin a week gets off all the extra crap I ate that week.
The hard part is making yourself go but once you get back in the routine it's easy!

I swear it will be easy!!
Then on Saturdays and Sundays work out first thing (before the coffee) so it doesn't interrupt your days off.
