My brother and his family live in Fairfield - right off the Merritt. It's about an hour and a half from LI. He loves it. There are many, many beautiful places in CT. We vacation up in Essex in the summers. We got to the CT Jazz Festival every August as well.

I would relocate there as well if we had too. Good Luck.

I've also heard good things about Fairfield. One of my BMs used to live there but is in Bridgeport now.

My FH used to live in CT (Stamford & Fairfield). Most of our friends live up there: Ridgefield, Wilton, and Newtown. They're all wonderful towns. Fairfield is a great county!

Other great towns: Norwalk, Westport, Weston.

I have family in Orange, and it's really beautiful. The properties there are big and inexpensive...schools are great, and the area is so pretty!!

Greenwich is great .. but majorly expensive.

Stamford is good and is a great place for jobs and stuff - has some not so great parts and some great ones.

Norwalk is also good .. a little out of stamford so not all up in its business but good area. we're thinking of living there.

Milford is boring .. that's where FH lives now

FSIL lives in Greenwich, but she used to live in Weston, which is still $$$ but more on this planet than Greenwich. Darien is supposed to be nice too, I think.

thanks ladies, we are looking for place in ct which are closer to NY. Ive heard good things about stamford and Darien.

I guess Ill have to do my homework.

I have Sicilian family that just moved to Greenwhich..

Its very SVEN town if you know what I mean.
They don't like the italians and they make it very clear that they aren't welcome in the CC..

Oh please, Greenwich is very nice. Way Out of my price range.
Its very waspy in Greenwich, tell your family to plant Tomatoe Plants and fig trees hahahah theyll love that

they are going to have a movie about her on Monday night on Channel 4. Cybil Sheppard plays Martha! I bet it will be horrible but of course I will have to tape it to watch some Saturday afternoon when I have nothing to do!!!

My best friend lives in Stratford which is about 20 minutes north of Fairfield - the LI Sound is down the road from her house - it's not nearly as expensive as Fairfield and it's very nice and affordable- also a stop on Metro North so it's an easy commute to NYC. Good luck!
