LIWeddings-why didn't you post my vendor review

A week or two ago I wrote a vendor review to go on the vendor review page for Renaissance Writings. I gave them a 10, I loved them. Why didn't you post it?

I was going to go in and write a few more reviews, one for Inkspun and another for Kates Paperie, but don't want to bother if they won't be posted....

Also, if it's true that you only post reviews of vendors that advertise on this site, doesn't that skew the list and is that really fair?

Oh, and what if I have a negative review of a vendor. I would only give Bill at Inkspun a 2, would that mean that it wouldn't be posted?? If that's true, it's not fair to the people looking at the reviews b/c they only see positives and no negatives....

I think it takes a few days for the page to refresh-the same thing happened to me when I posted my reviews - they showed up about 4 days later.

I posted about my dress and my review about what happened and it never showed up and the store is a vendor on here.

If the vendor reviews are, as rumored, only positive reviews of LIWeddings advertisers I won't be looking to them anymore, how will I know if someone's really good or the vendor reviews have been screened? Also, how will I know about other vendors who are out there?

Plus, I resent writing the thing only to have it not posted...we brides are very busy

I haven't received a response to my FM to LIWeddings.

LIWeddings doesn't charge us, they depend on vendors to keep the site running and their children clothed and fed. They have the right to edit anything they would like -- including message board postings -- to protect their vendor relationships. The alternative is that the brides pay - would you prefer a membership fee?

Okay okay I'm here. Took the night off!

Here's the scoop.

First, a while ago we stopped posting reviews of vendors that do not support LIWeddings.com and NYCityWeddings.com. Did this for two reasons. 1) The vendors pay a fee to be associated with this site. It's not fair to them if non advertisers are basically being promoted and thus in competition with them on the site while not supporting it. 2) In many cases we need to verify the posters comments. If a vendor is not associated with this site it becomes almost impossible to do this.

Second, if you submit a review and do not include the appropriate contact info (your full name, email address and phone) your review will not be posted. Why? It would become to easy for someone to spam the reviews (good or bad). Your personal info is never posted. It is just their in case we need to contact you. (your first names and wedding date are posted)

Third, all reviews are reviewed by us. In some cases we will either call you or the vendor to confirm the info. If the review is super wonderful we will call to make sure that it is a real bride's review. If the review states that the vendor should be shot. We also call to make sure this is a real bride and to confirm this isn't an exaggeration and/or a vendetta.

Here's an example. I recently went to lunch with a business associate to my favor lunch spot (expensive!!!). Well, for the first time my meal was terrible. I couldn't believe it! Well, does that mean I should tell the world they had horrible food and never go there or should I bring it to their attention and see how they handle it? I'm not saying that if you have a bad experience you shouldn't tell anyone. I'm just saying that you should take an objective look at the situation. If a vendor's employee was less than professional should you scream to the world that the vendor is bad or should you bring it to the owners attention and see how they deal with it? And then comment?

All-in-all because of past experience we have to play policeman. Hey, it's not perfect but we do the best we can to be fair to all.

I'm not sure I understand entirely? My hall John Anthony's doesn't appear to be a supporter on here, nor do a few other halls (I didn't see Coral House, North Ritz etc)...does that mean we can't praise them to the skies if they're not LIW vendors? Because I've seen other brides give raves to non-LIW supporters.

Plus, my florist, Burton's, doesn't advertise ever anywhere (their policy), does that mean I can't give them props? I'm truly not trying to be argumentative, just trying to understand the policy and who/what we can and can't say....

I am speaking about the reviews here http://liweddings.com/services/vendors.asp and not on the boards.

Also, when making a review please state things as a matter of fact. In other words things like don't use or so and so was the greatest thing since sliced bread. State the facts. It makes for a better more believable and trustworthy review.

lol- I didnt even know there was a separate vendor review section.... I though LIW was editing the posts on this board.
