Wedding gift from bridal party members

Those of you who are married, what types of gifts did you get for your wedding from the bridal party? I have a very hard time giving cash to a close friend, but someone told me that I am supposed to give a gift for the shower and cash for the wedding. No where does it say that in Emily Post...help gals!!

that's exactly what i always do when i'm in someone's BP... they get a nice gift from me for the shower & then I'll usually get them bonds as a wedding gift!

Most of my BMs gave me $ but my MOH got me my china gravy boat and serving platter. The other gave me my duvet and shams.

I usually do the same: gift for shower, money for wedding. But that is a very NY thing, money for the wedding.

When one of my BM got married way down south, I was going to give her $ but when I got there, her poor water frog's tank had broken and the poor guy was swimming in a bucket. I ran to the store and bought a nice sized tank for the little guy. I knew they didn't really have the money for it, and the guy needed something bigger than a bucket.

I usually do nice gift for shower, and cash at the wedding. I do think that this is a NY thing though, when I was in a wedding in PA all the BMs bought gifts but me, I gave the gift that keeps on giving...cash
