Bad News today

Bad News today

Went to the doctor to get a mole on my nose looked at and removed beore the wedding. (How attractive) I t just started growing about a month ago and it has gotten quite big. Doctor said that it is not a mole or a wart but most likely skin cancer. he is not sure and did a biopsy (OW) but he said he thinks it is malignant. I have to wait ten days to get the complete results and to top it all off now I have a big red scab on my nose to accent the lovely bandaid on my nose. I am trying not to be but I am really worried

I am very sorry you are going through this. Try to keep your thoughts positive. Early detection is very beneficial, so hopefully your prognosis will be good, even if it does in fact turn out to be malignent. We are all hear to listen and support you...you are not alone.

Daisy,

I'm sorry you got such bad news.

I know it's a very scary thing. A friend of mine had a scare like that as well, and they took several spots from her back for a biopsy. They were benign, thank goodness, even though the doctor said they looked very suspicious. Try to stay positive, even though I know its difficult. If it turns out to be something more serious, at least you went and took care of it early. It's already off, so any other treatment will only be followup stuff.

Oh honey

I would not worry if it is skin cancer - I have plenty of family members who have had it and are alive and healthy today!!!!! No more sun for you without sunblock.......self tanners are a beautiful thing.

Make sure to see the doc every year to check all your moles!!!!! I'm positive you'll be fine!!!!!!

I'm sure the prognosis is very good.

I've had my own battles with melanoma, and from all the MDs I've spoken to, it takes around 2-3 years for the cancer to spread to lymph nodes...so when you see that mole, get in checked within that time period.

You said it just started, so I'm sure you'll be fine, even if it was melanoma.

I had two removed off my arm, and yes, I was a basket case, crying, and terrified.
But I'm fine now, and I get check by my MD every six months.

Thanks it just makes it harder because many members of my family have died from Malinoma (sp?) (a type of skin cancer). Beside nobody wants to hear the word Cancer

I cannot Thank you enough for all of your hugs, support and thoughts. I don't want my family or FH to know that I am worried. They are definatley needed.
