"Next was the Vanderbuilt Mansion in LI. That wedding was yesterday. I have to say it was probably one of the prettiest places I have ever been to for a wedding. The grounds are amazing with rolling hills, the lake, the tapestry, everything.
They had wanted to get married outside, but it was slightly drizzling, so instead they got married in the atrium, also very nice. Then we were moved to the cocktail hour which was amazing with really great food. They also had a piano bar and excellent service. Everytime you were done with your plate, someone came over to pick it up. Plus they had frozen drinks going around on trays, which I thought was great!
Next, the reception, was in a fairly medium sized room, with high cathedral ceilings and a huge fireplace that the bride and groom sat in front of. The guests had iews of the lake and courtyard- both very beautiful sceneries.
Again I ordered the filet mignon and this time it was a little too well done for my liking, even though I again stated medium rare.
The dessert was the wedding cake, cheescake and a strawberry dipped in chocolate. They then, as you were walking out, handed out chocolate truffles!
All in all, it was a wonderful wedding and the site was also just as wonderful!"
