I feel stupid posting this....

but I am very sad because we have to put my cat to sleep. I've had him since I was 8(I'm 24 now), and I am just so upset. I know he's just a cat, but he's like part of the family after all these years. And the worst part is that he doesn't even appear to be sick, so it's like we have to put a perfectly healthy cat down. But he's not, he's sick, even though he seems fine

I'm sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest.

Don't feel stupid at all. I had to put one of mine to sleep in December, and it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I still miss her and cry sometimes

I'm so sorry. I would be a wreck too. My cats are 17 and 15 and I have had them since they were kittens. I just hope they both make it to my wedding or I will be devastated.

Dont feel stupid, or say it is just cat. A cat is a pet just like a dog, they are equally the same.
Im so sorry for your loss. My cat was in the hospital for the whole weekend, and I couldnt eat all weekend, I was so sad he wouldnt make it

You had him a long time. You have every right to be sad

What sad news....I completely understand your situation. I had my cat for 16 years and it took me a long time to get over the loss. I'm sure you are making the right decision and I wish you all the best.

i am so sorry
my cat will be 13 on september 2, and he's starting to show his age. i got him as a gift for my 15th birthday and i'm going to be a MESS when he has to go....
don't feel stupid mourning a loss...if it makes you sad - be sad, you're allowed

you have every right to feel sad. I lost my cat a few months ago. I got him when I was in 3rd grade. He was 18. Pets are the best because they never hurt you and are always around showing attention and appreciation. So of course you love them and miss them.

I am so sorry about your cat. I would feel the same way if it were mine. Pets become part of your family and you love them dearly so of course you will mourn the loss.
