for those doing the hotel gifts..are you using baskets or bags?

I want to do this for my guests, with champagne, etc, but was wondering what they will actually look like. Can anyone give me some advice? i thought nice baskets might get too expensive...ALL of my guests will be staying ina hotel..so what is the alternative..put everything in a nice gift bag?
I was thinking of doing teh champagne, the wedding mints..what else goes in those things?

I am doing bags, b/c I think it might be difficult for some of my puddle-jumping guests to make room enough to bring baskets home.

I am using bags as well, the baskets are just too much work for me - with 25 days to go, I need to do so many other thingsm plus, the bags are easier for me to drop off, for the hotel to give out and for my guests to take home.

I am putting in a mini-wine bottle, water, maps of LI and NYC, I LOVE NY key chains, LI and NYC post cards, chocolate, crackers, and advil as well as a directional card from the hotels to the church.

My wedding is on LI so no one needs a metro-card but that's a great idea for anyone whose having their wedding in NYC.

I wanted to do baskets, but it was too much $$, plus people won't take them on the planes with them - they'll end up being left in the hotel room.

I found lots of great bags online, but I need to make 35, so I ordered ones off of orientaltrading.com b/c they were cheap.

wowo..all great ideas!! Where did you gusy find supplies cheap..such as advil for everyone. Ill have about 40 - 45 to make..so its going to be expensive.
I will buy teh bags from Oriental trading co..I saw on that website today..but Im not sure where I will get everything else yet. Tahnks you gusy for all of yoru help! I LOVE the advil idea..my guests will need it! Ill probably need the whole bottle!!!

A quick note on the advil, instead of bottles for everyone, put in 2 of the individual packs that you see at 7-11. I think you can buy a box at the drugstore.

radio star..I love those bags too..what a GREAT price..I may use the gold ones. Hmm...lots of choices!! tahnks so much!!! let me ask this..since I am in Jersey...AND we are having a friday night wedding ..ALL of my guests have to sacrifice to come to our wedding, whether it be flying in or driving in..so everyone will be staying ina ahotel..i should make these for everyone right? My mom is making chocolate bars that say THANKYOU on them and tehn we'll wrap them ina nice wrap, so Ill put that in there as well.

we are putting in advil or motrin (whatever we rememebr to get) gum, mints, individual gormet hot chocolate packs (Winter & all) LI tourism guide, lip balm... there's something else, but I cannot remember.

I actually bought the white bags posted above and they are adorable. They are a bit smaller than they look in the picture but should be able to fit a couple of bottles of water, small packets of advil/tylenol and maybe a small snack. These were my bags. I made them myself and the guests loved them. I put botteled water, mints, gum, cookies, chips, slim jims, advil, travel size lint rollers, body lotion, directions to the reception and a few others I cant remember.

I used baskets for ours, I thought they looked nicer. You could go to a party supply store and get them for a reasonable price. I packed them with water, chips, cookies and other essentials that your guests might need like Advil, Tylenol etc.

I used baskets, but I got them on clearance after easter. My OOT guests were so surprised to get them. I'm still hearing about them, and it's been almost 2 months!
