DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE VEDORS TO EAT?IF SO, WHO?
I THINK IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT THESE VENDORS CHARGE SO MUCH AND THEN I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM TO EAT. AND THEN TIP THEM.
SORRY TO BE NEGATIVE. I'M LOOKING AT MY BUDGET AS THE WEDDING IS GETTING CLOSER AND IT'S GETTING CRAZY.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
Yes, D.J., emcee or band members, photograher, videographer. If you use house vendors they are usually half price

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
Most halls charge very little for this, and I personally, liked all my vendors so much that I more than enjoyed not only paying for them, but having them at my wedding, not only as my vendors, but in some cases, like friends I made

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
OR, the vendors can take a dinner break, and leave your reception to go get some food
, I'd rather feed them!

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
I myself feel that you should feed your photographers and videogrpahers. They are with you the entire day. Even if your videographer does not start at the home, he is getting to the church early. I'm not feeding my band, they are there only for the reception and that's 4 hours. I'm sure they could grab a bite before they come to the party or something during the cocktail hour.As for these vendors charging an arm and a leg, it is your wedding. Most of us get married once and it is a special day to remember. That is why these vendors charge what they do.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
Well normally if they in-house vendors your hall doesn't charge. If they aren't in-house it's 1/2 price. IMO if I were working for 10 hours, I'm taking a break to eat, and if the person didn't want to pay for my meal I would have to leave to go get my food. Would you want that? Your photographer or videographer leaving to find the closest diner or McDonalds? Also the band/DJ leaving for same? Most halls, if you don't fulfill your guarantee will include the vendors with that price, but you have to expect these people to eat a meal.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
It's a courtesy since they are providing a service...we are feeding them. You can inquire at your hall if you are using house vendors, their meals should be half price.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
I was lucky. I had 5 vendors, but my hall only charged me for one (because they loved me).
Maybe you can work out some kind of deal.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
A lot of halls offer reduced rates for vendors since they won't be getting a full meal. Check with your vendors - some of them may not care - the DJ/MC are only working a couple of hours and may be fine without eating. The photographer is with you a long time and I think they should definitely be fed.You could also take this additional cost into consideration when you are deciding on what to tip them.
It does get to be too much. The one that killed me the most was the Maitre D. He is an employee of the reception place where we got married. We paid them a lot of money to make the party and then we are expected to tip them for making sure it all goes smoothly?? Shouldn't that be included in the the thousands of dollars that we paid them? vent over

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
I agree you have to feed the. a happy vendor is a full vendor. I know I hate being hungry and working. Examply the photographer is there with you 2 hours prior to ceremony until the end (1:30----12:30pm). That's a long day. I don't want them to leave and miss something important. Just like videographer, and DJ.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
I am planning to feed the photographer and videographer since they will be with us all day. When I booked my band, and we were negotiating the price, I was told that they would much rather be paid more per person than be fed (plus, they will probably eat during the cocktail hour). I would discuss this with your band to see what they prefer.

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
Yes, especially the photographer and the videographer who are with you for over 10 hrs. It is only fair that you feed them. The hall usually offers their meals at 1/2 price, since they only eat dinner.

HI! I'm getting married at the East Wind Inn too! I think that if you use any of their vendors they eat half price. Hope this helps!

Re: DO THE VENDORS HAVE TO EAT?
Of course they have to eat! The photographer and videographer are with you for sometimes almost 10-12 hours! They are human! LOL My hall doesn't charge for house vendors (those they recommend) and if you use someone they don't consider 'house' they only charge you half price.Welcome New Vendors
