Re: Polish Brides
My FH is from Gdansk, Poland and moved here when he was 13. He and his family speak it ALL the time and I am learning. I know that Kochanie means dear one or loved one. I went to Poland in May 2002 for FH's niece's first communion. I never knew how beautiful it was there. We stayed in Warsaw, Gdansk and Sopot. The beach in Sopot is GORGEOUS!!!

Re: Polish Brides
I told FH that there are some Polish brides here and he is SO happy.Anybody ever hear of anybody getting hurt by the coins that people throw after the church?
Oh yeah, how do you pick them up? FH says we need to run around and pick them up off the ground. I said I would let him do that as I don't think I should be on my hands and knees in my wedding gown

Re: Polish Brides
Did any of my fellow polish girls ever compete in Polish pagents here on the Island when they were younger?? I was in some Miss Polonia pagent when I was 15. I was the runner up
!! But it was fun!!! I don't think I won because I am actually half Italian and I look more Italian.I am doing the toast at my wedding, with the salt.

Re: Polish Brides
Yup, we're doing the bread, salt, wine blessing and FH said his relatives wil teach mine how to sing Sto Lat.
FH hasn't asked for much but he asked for the bread, salt, wine blessing and when I said 'oh course', he was stunned that I agreed so easily. I told him I wanted it too, but I also want to dance the tarantella.
Italian/Polish seems to be a good combination. I have been hearing of it more and more.
