What are you doing with all your old stuff??

When you leave or left you parents place, what will you do or did you do with all your old stuff?

I don't know what to do with it. I have so much stuff that I saved and collected through the years, stuffed animals, pictures on the walls, books, games, prom dress, tons of little nic nacs and on and on and on. I don't know what to do with it all. I would hate to throw it out, but I know I can't bring all my memories with me, there are too many and not enough room for them. And I don't think FH would appreciate me hangin pics of the prom with another guy. I don't feel I could bring myself to throw them out. I am a saver and it would hurt too much. WHat to do, what to do...

Re: What are you doing with all your old stuff??

DO NOT THROW ANYTHING OUT!!! I moved to Georgia with my fi, and I had to leave a lot of stuff at my moms. Its in boxes in my closet of my old room. My furniture is still in my old room. (now guest room). When I moved here, my fi and I had a fire, and everything was lost. Thank god, I left a lot of stuff at my mom's. Now everytime I go home I look through everything.. It's memories, that one day you will show your children.. I am a pack rat.. but that's besides the point.. I would say keep as much as you can at your moms. Basement, attic, closets. and bring some stuff to your new pad..

Re: What are you doing with all your old stuff??

Good question....I always think about that.
I dunno...I am also a saver....I am going to take all of it to our new house (which we will not be moving in until we are married...we are in the process of fixing it)...I am going to store it in the attic...I'm hoping that one day I will be able to either sell it or just throw it away....but who knows??

anything we want saved we are bringing with us.... if you want to leave stuff at parents house make sure its LABELED so they dont throw it out thinking you dont want it...
pictures and such.. you could always get a nice memory box with all that stuff, so it wouldnt be displayed but youd have it

Re: What are you doing with all your old stuff??

well...my room now looks nothing like it did when I lived there...I had 2 closets in the room...so one is filled with my junk...and the other I had to clean out and my mom took it over...(actually all our formal dresses, BM dresses etc are hanging in there...)

what ever you do...do it slowly...each time I go there I try to throw a few more things out...its been 6 years...and I am still working on getting rid of things....
