Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
Hi,We are considering redoing our bathroom. I have called Bath Fitters and am considering calling Rebath (although, not likely based on a friend's reco).
Does anyone have any experience with these companies and/or even if its a good idea to do this??
Thanks,
Denise

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
My mom had Bath Fitter redo her bathroom over 5 years ago and she is still very happy with it. They have great customer service, they always arrive on time for any follow ups (every so oftern they have to come in to redo the seals)HTH

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
We had Bath Fitter installed in November and love it so far. I wouldn't go with Rebath just based on cust. service. The man we scheduled an appt. with cancelled at the last minute and then never called to reschedule. I had rearranged my schedule to meet with him to begin with so that completely turned me off from that company. Bath Fitter is also the only one that is seamless (the walls) so there is less chance of leaks and such occuring.

My neighbor had a bath-fitter 'type' install put in his co-op apartment. I saw it when he was moving out after he sold it.I was originally against this... but i must admit it looked pretty good. He also said he had it for 7years and had no issues.

I live in a co-op and the Bath Fitter guy said that to redo the tub area, it would cost 4500. I thought that was a bit high.

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
We looked into this and it was very expensive, if the wall is not doing well behind the bath fitter it can fall apart and crumble, rot etc. This is what my friends BIL told me who is a contractor. We reglazed and love it. It also did not cost as much . FM mail me of you want the place we used.

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
That is a lot! Well we will see what this guy quotes us tonight. If it is more than 3,500-4,000 I don't think we are going to do it!I would do reglazing, but I heard that doesn't last as long...... It chips, etc.

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
I got a price of $1,000 for the tub only, which is what I believe Denise wants to do, not put up the liner around the tub area.

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
Ok, well it can be more! Ha ha.We got quoted last night $4,560. That is to do the tub in a cream color (which is extra), fake tile wall in cream (extra), new Moet shower fixtures, hangy thing for shampoos, and new ceiling.
The sales guy was GREAT, very professional! We loved him! He was at our house from 8-10:30! We couldn't stop talking to him. He was very fair and VERY honest with us. Told us what we DON'T need to get, what we cna get for less at Home Depot. Just a very honest guy! He even gave us $300 off for an ad we heard on the radio, and then he gave us another $260 off because we found out that my cousin works at Bathfitters.. :)) Our Sales guy was Rich Reese, telephone number is (516) 384-2079. He is in the process now of trying to get us an even better price.
So total price is $4,000 no tax, done in one day! Totally maintance free care! I am so excited. I asked about mold, mildew or anything. He said it will NOT happen! It is all seamless so nothing can seep though! He said that all you have to do is wipe it clean with a non abrasive cleaner, even windex. He said the arcyrlic (sp?) will never lose its shine! Its gauranteed for as long as you own your home! My cousin also said it wonderful and she would highly recommend it. She works with the company and knows what they do and she is my COUSIN! :)
What do you guys think of the price??? Also, if anyone wants to do this, the sales guy was beyond WONDERFUL, and I get $100! :)))
UPDATE: He went down another $200. I called and asked if they can do better! So now we are paying $3,800.!

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
I know that is what everyone is telling us to do! But that is going to be a crazy project trying to get that heavy cast iron tub out of your house... We only have one bathroom.... It will be crazy.........I think we are really paying for the convenience of having it done in one day.. How will we not have a bathroom for a few weeks???

Re: Bath Fitter or Rebath?? Anyone?
We had the company called 'Rebath' come, they are the ones that Home Depot uses and you can get like a 0% financing for a certain amount of months with them too.... We were told $1,100 for just the tub, in white, no pattern, a color or pattern was going to add like an extra $125-200... then to do the Tub and surrounding wall would start at like $2500

I just wanted to update everyone.Bathfitters installed our new tub on Saturday. It came out beautiful! We LOVE it! ;)
The installer was great, very professional. It was done in about 7 hours! It looks so amazing!
If anyone is interested, we have before and after pics and I can give you the phone number for our salesman Richard Reese..
In conclusion, we are VERY HAPPY with it!
