maybe put the glue on the object you are gluing; rather than on the umbrella???

Hi, Mommy Laura!!! That might work, if the glue has a chance to cool a bit. Will have to try!! I couldn't find a turquoise beach umbrella, so I bought two different turquoise reg, umbrellas, then I got a hot pink beach umbrella w/ssilver underside; I think I'm going with one of the turquoise, and I'm going to decorate it with a beach theme!!!!! This will be fun, as long as I don't burn holes in the umbrella!!!!! Thanks!! Mary MOB

i dont think it would burn through - does it say 'for use on fabric'

I have tried hot glue on alot of fabrics and stuff and it has never burned through it should only get hot enough to melt the glue. try it on the underneath like on a seam or something where there is a bit of fabric hanging on if it has on of those little fabric thing that wraps around the umbrella to fasten it.
