Favors for Engagement Party

My engagement party is Aug 10 and I still don't have any favors. It is during the summer so I had to scrap the Lindt truffles idea. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Favors for Engagement Party

I was having the same dilemma. Our EP is July 13. We decided to scrap the favors. We tossed around the idea of candy bars w/custom wrappers- but it's the summer and the heat might melt everything. Or even having hershey hugs and kisses wrapped in tool with ribbons, same heat problem. When I posted the same question a few days ago some people suggested save the date magnets. But it was too complicated so we just gave up on the whole thing.

Re: Favors for Engagement Party

Just my two cents, but don't feel obligated to give any favors - we had a small dinner party for our engagement - but it was really just for the 2 families to meet. It wasn't a huge crazy party, and we skipped the favors all together.

Re: Favors for Engagement Party

We used potpourri holders (heart-shaped) that we actually got at the $1 store. We then bought potpourri and round tulle, and made sachets to insert in the top. We got personalized ribbon with our names and date that we 'won' from an EBay vendor (Party Innovations Online)

They were BEAUTIFUL - people raved about them and they were very inexpensive. Hope this helps.

Re: Favors for Engagement Party

My engagement party was in December and we went to K-Mart and bought a couple of boxes of decorative candles that were really cheap and just left them around the tables and everyone just took one as they left. You might be able to find something like that at K-Mart or Walmart or something.

Re: Favors for Engagement Party

For our engagement party we used chinese boxes, filled them with candy wrapped in tulle, and wrapped the box in tulle with a personalized label from myownweddings.com. They were really affordable (under $1 pp) and everyone loved them. You can get the boxes at Bliss Weddings.com, and everything else at Michaels.

Re: Hmichick

What kind of candy did you fill it with. I can't use chocolate.

Re: Hmichick

I couldnt use choclate either, since it was so hot before my e-party last weekend. I went to Target and bought a bunch of hard candy and sweets...it gave a nice weight to the box as well. Nothing too fancy, but they looked great and we got tons of compliments...I will have to post the pics once I get them developed!

Re: Hmichick

I gave out the bookmarks for favorlady.com Not expensive and I used the same design that my STD magnets (also from her) have on them. I tied the bookmarks to choclate lollipops- my e-party was March.
