Re: First time home buyers??

www.lihp.org

make an appointment with them. it is free. they will tell you all you need to know!!

when I was buying last year, i either made too much $$ to be eligible for a grant (which is laughable) or the house had to be in a low income area.

Re: First time home buyers??

also try the FHA route. its a loan for first time buyers with low downpayments and low interest. but you need to make under $100k (i think) to qualify.

Re: First time home buyers??

we went to lihp but didnt qualify for any grants. in order to you have to make very little money i think it was under 40k for both not each.....so that diditn work
but the counslor forwarded our info to a loan officer & we are actually waiting approval. but we only had to pay $200 for the application ( i know thye ususaly run 300-400) and we filled out for the 1st home buyer loan & the place we accpeptd on is in coram which is considered low income area so we would still be able to qualify for this loan. there are 2 ways to qualify if you make together under i think it was 65k or it is in low income area....but there are a lot of towns listed low income even though you wouldnt think it so its worth meeting with lihp......

Re: First time home buyers??

Does the income have to include both salaries of the couple? I mean, can a single person qualify?
