OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
i spent 1.5 hrs at a store yesterday regsitering (started the registry online) only to find out that the items i scanned in store were not added to my list when i received the print out. as a result, i had to scan all over again (another 1hr). i KNEW there was another bride (same first and last name) registered there as i SAW the screen and the woman asked my FI's name and wedding date.anyway, i was being nosey this morning and checking other regsitries for ideas. i went into hers and LOW AND BEHOLD the items i spent 1.5 hrs scanning yesterday were added to HER registry and NOT mine.
i called the store (different woman) and she was very apologetic and said she was going to delete the items of the other bride's regsitry and talk to the registry woman that helped me yesterday.
just wanted to vent and warn others.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
i was somewhat annoyed, but not really bothered that i had to register all over again. i'm just happy i spotted it as her guests would have been purchasing items that she didn't even register for.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
Sorry to hear that! We have had no problems registering so far......except a couple of the items we chose at Fortunoff's came up as being five million dollars when you viewed the registry online!!!
I think it might be helpful for the brides-to-be if you didn't mind saying which place this was, so they can exercise extra caution there.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
I had the 5 million dollar items on my registry too!! Three of them, and then something kept showing as purchased, then not purchased, then purchased aagin...Fortunoff's must be having some issues...they resolve it quickly though..

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
about the 5 million dollar thing....I think it is some kind of error that comes up sometimes when there are items that are available in the store only, and not online.

in what way? personally, i don't think it is worth it. like it or not we are basically just $$$ signs to them.

get a discount or credit for a purchase. you are then giving them more $$$ but at a better rate for you...yes it is worth a try!

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
I had the same problem last weeka t Forunoff's too! It was very frustrating because I had to wait for them to manually enter everything to my registry. Good thing it went to my cousins registry instead & I told her to make sure she or the store deleted it.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
after hearing these complaints and now realizing that i never received my 'promised' $25 gift card and whatever incentives (i went over a month ago as well), i am deleting my registry from fortunoffs and going elsewhere. i am going to do it mostly online, so i will just re- register elsewhere for the items i had at fortunoffs.it's not worth the aggrevation and hassle having to spot check the registry every week for possible mistakes.
thanks for sharing your experiences!

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
I had a frustrating experience too. I spent 3.5hrs in Fortunoffs and thought I was scanning but was actually just turning the darn thing on each time. DUH!!!

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
i say we all boycott the store. personally, i never like fortunoffs, i just wanted to regsiter there because it is a one stop shop. whenever i go it's always crowded w/ snooty, loud and pushy people.i am more than happy to take my business elsewhere.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
I basically only registered there for china and everyday plates and a few other things, they are not my stsyle, Im getting everything else at Target and Lines and Things...Target has issues too but they stuff is cheaper and people like Target , Lines and things is cheaper then bed bath and beyond for the exact same stuff....I think registering for $400 bedding at Fortuneoffs thats half the price elswhere is weird anyway...but JMO...Im not the registering , china type...lol

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING
I have a VERY common name too so this also happened to me.I knew it was Fortunoff when I read your post. I just knew it.
Dont ever email them by the way - they don't check those emails so you will never get a response.
It took me 4 months to get mine straightened out and even now I don't think it will be smooth sailing.
