Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING

I'm sorry to hear you all had such negative experiences at Fortunoff's. Personally, I've had no problems there, aside from 2 champagne flutes they forgot to remove from my registry. I would definitely complain and see if they can compensate you for your trouble in any way.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING

I actually had a very good experience at Fortunoff's, and went there after a terrible experience at Macy's. I did go EARLY though, shortly after the store opened, and I think that made it a lot easier. I also hate how crowded it gets later in the day.

I had some problems at Target, because the guns weren't working, so we had to write down all the skew #s and enter them on the website when we got home, but not all the items in the store that we wanted were available online. I think a lot of these places have glitches in their systems, my best experience was at Crate and Barrel, but I have also heard people have had problems with them as well. Maybe it is all luck.....

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING

Also, I forgot to mention that when I did register at Fortunoff's, I was told any changes I made would have to be done online, that I could not add stuff later in the store with the gun. If you started the registry online, and then went into the store, perhaps that was the problem and no one told you? Glad it worked out.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING

I'm sorry you had to go through tht. I probably wouldn't have goen through it all itagain.

At Bed Bath & Beyond there are 3 other people with the same first & last name as me.I only registered in the store once, and i
guess it was easy to get it right scince I just opened it there. Since then Iv'e added at home. I could see how it could easily happen if I went back to the store & they are looking up existing registries & pick one of the other ones.

Re: OMG - REGISTRY WARNING

I would CALL Fortunoffs and ask about the $25 gift card and I say that b/c I bought new furniture in October 2003 for my new home and was told I would get a rebate for delivery, it was $30 no biggie....but it never came...finally after about 5 phone calls I found the rebate center-in February 2004....and there was an answering machine...! About a month later (3 weeks ago) I got a human being--and now I was working on the principal of it all---and she told me the check was going out the next day....and I thought yeah, right....it arrived 4 days later, and I am so sure it was ONLY because I called. I wonder how many people do nothing when they are told they will get a rebate or gift card etc....and get nothing...Call them and ask for gift card, it's not like the money is a huge amount, I just feel it is the principal of it all.

Good luck and sorry for the long story!
