RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I was thinking about changing into another dress an hour before the reception ends. This way my parents can just take the dress home and I will not have to worry about it getting ruined on the way to the hotel or even attempting to get out of it by myself.

How does everyone feel about changing from your wedding gown into another dress?

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

Not exactly another 'wedding' dress but like a regular, got-it-off-the-rack-at-Macy's, pretty dress.

I seriously think I have been watching one too many episodes of MTV's Super Sweet Sixteen

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I truly didnt even want to take my dress off when i had to go to bed I think its a cute idea but you do only get to wear a wedding dress for 1 day, just keep that in mind!!

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I contemplated this for like one second - then I realized that the day will go by quickly enough as it is. I do not want to waste any time getting out of my (big) dress and putting on another. Besides, my mom bought my dress as a gift to me and I really lllllllove it, so I want to have it on as long as possible!!!

Exactly, I purposely bought a lighter dress, I want to wear it all day and might, might change for the after party, but it will be a last minute call!

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I am changing into an 'off the rack Macys' dress 10 minutes before we leave so that my mom has my dress and I don't have to schlep it to the hotel and make sure someone picks it up before we leave for our honeymoon

This is what Superkat did, she married a Chinese man and wanted to keep tradition.

I changed out of my dress in the bridal suite after the reception. It was sooooooooooooo hard, I never wanted to take it off!!!!! But I was able to have 2 BMs help me and then my mom took it home. This way I didn't have to do it alone but I didn't miss any of my reception for a 'costume' change. We just told the limo to come pick us up a half-hour after the reception ended.

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I wore the gown all night. and DH took it off The next morning I gave my gown to my mom to take home- we stayed at the east wind as well as my parents and many other guests, worked out well for us ... I NEVER wanted to take it off! I didn't want to 'waste' time out of the reception-which goes very quickly to begin with-

I think that one dress is enough considering that I am having everything in one place.

Re: RH Dress Change - Is Anyone Doing This?

I don't think I'm changing...this is my first and (i'm sure) the last time I'll be wearing a designer dress....unless I'm miraculously become popular or super rich.
