If you are getting married in a church -you are not allowed to have rice or rose petals. If you have birdseed you may have to pay extra for them to clean it up. I can't imagine the bubbles staining the dress. Maybe a little spot here and there, but the bubbles you buy for weddings aren't like to jars you buy for kids. They are not that sudsy (sp?)

Do you know if your church even allows anything to be thrown? Ours didn`t at all. Even so, I don`t think I would have liked the idea anyway. I was not going to bother with bubbles but unbeknownst to me, my mother bought a few boxes of bubbles and distributed them. They look very pretty in the pictures. They were also 'non-staining' so look for that type if you decide to go with bubbles.

Not all churches have a rule about this. Mine is allowing whatever we want. I know that someone recently had rose petals because they were scattered all around on the church steps when I drove by one day. I'm having trouble deciding on this myself. Also check out Martha Stewart's web site. She has a couple of ideas of things to throw.

Rose Petals
We did rose petals--very inexspensive and beyond imple to do I used floral paper (8 1/2 X11) cut into 2 and printed our names and dates so that when you made the cone it was diagonal on the top-- we brought them to the florist in 2 baskets and they filled them and brought them to the church--the pics came out amazing-- just an idea if anyone needs help with the printing set up let me know laura

Rose Petals
My FI and I wanted bubbles, but we are getting married outside (hopefully) on the water and Im afraid the wind will blow in the wrong direction. I was thinking of rose pedals as well or maybe potpourri? I've also heard of ringing bells instead...

Rose Petals
We,re having both rose petals and fishing bells. Both my Fi & myself are avid fisherpeople and everyone knows it!!! So it should be a hit.

Definitely check w/ your church first ..
I`m not really sure what we would have chosen if we had a choice, but our church will only allow us to use bubbles. But I have to say, after attending a wedding last weekend, I`m glad that`s what we`re going with. Not only do they look great, but we won`t have to worry about anyone tripping or slipping, about animals getting sick, or about getting stuff in our hair :) or in our clothes. Plus, the church won`t have to do a clean up like they would with rice, petals, confetti, etc. If the photographer sets the picture right, and the bubble blowers keep in mind wind direction, it will enhance the chances of getting a great picture.

Rose petal amount
I was going to order them myself but couldnt figure out how much-- I know that some of the sites will give you an approximate-- I have heard stories that the freeze dried can stain your dress but dont know if that is true or not but that is why we went with fresh--talk to your florist if you are not picky on colors they usually dont mind cause it can be scraps--but i know all white cost more LauraWelcome New Vendors
