Check out the cake I baked!
So I got my mom the cricut mini for Christmas. The Cricut Cake, if you're not sure what it is, is a die-cut machine for gum paste. We're both big bakers and I thought it looked pretty cool. Well it was my friend's birthday this past weekend so we decided to break out the cricut and bake him a cake. It was actually pretty easy to do! Unfortunately, I had to go home and cook, too, so I didn't have much time to decorate too much. We did a simple paisley design in blue and green and piped on a border and 'Happy Birthday'. Naturally, since I was in a rush, I didn't get a picture of it whole and completely decorated, but check it out!
Oh and we also baked some chocolate chip cookies, too. And they just looked sooo good. We ate them when they were still hot and gooey out of the oven. YUM.

Surprisingly, yes! All you had to do was plug it in and put in the 'memory card' thingy with all the different designs on it and you could start right away. The only thing is we bought the gum paste sheets from AC Moore that are specifically made to go with the cricut machine but the gum paste was soooooo dry and thin. A few designs cracked and it didn't taste all that great. But you can also roll out your own gum paste which was MUCH easier to work with and tasted a whole lot better. But it's definitely cool!
ETA: They had cooler designs, but since my friend is a guy we had to keep it semi-manly.
lol!

Absolutely! Not that I have any idea what I'm doing. But it's fun pretending. I'm going to start taking classes with my SIL and actually learn how to use it right.

OMG they taste like cardboard, it's awful! SInce it's on the cake and it mixes with the buttercream I didn't even notice it, but from now on we're rolling out our own.
