DEF NOT but we don't usually make each other go to things and his family is WAY too annoying and I can't say things to them that i would want to. Without DH there, I wouldn't have my buffer and I might slip!

Yep and I have many times. I would of course never see my MIL without him but my FIL's side, definitely!

Yep, I'd go.I've known DHs family for 11 years now if he was sick or got stuck working & couldn't make an event I would go without him. I am sure he would do the same if my family had an event as well.

I don't think there's a rule. It would ideally be nice to be like real family with them, but if they make you uncomfortable don't go.

On the whole - no, I wouldn't go with out him..The only exception would be like next week his nephew is in a play - DH is working but I'm going to see it...

depends what it is. I went to his sister's baby shower, I wont go to bday's tho its just weird being in a couple and going w/o each otherbut if MIL invites me to something just for girls I would def go
