freaking out! UPDATE!!!!
some if you will remember the post I made the other day asking for prayers... well I don't have any results yet and I am starting to freak out!I was told it would take 2 days... today is 3 so I called the Dr. and the receptionist said she would check my file and call me back. I know dr's offices aren't great at calling back, but I also don't know if
1. They just don't have the reults back yet
2. Whatever it could be is all negative and she is just busy
3. Something is positive and the doctor himself has to call me and is busy himself
I called nearly 3 hours ago and I have been trying to remain calm since and I am starting to freak! I don't want to nag them and call again. I worked in doctors offices for years and I know what that's like. I literally started crying at work over something so stupid because I am so stressed! I don't want to leave to get lunch in fear they will call while I am gone... I am like on the verge of a panic attack and need to calm the EFF down...
whew I really had to get that out... it actually made me feel a bit better
UPDATE!!! So I called back. I spoke to my doctor and everything came back fine! I'm slightly relieved but also still wondering why I am feeling the way I do... Oh well.. I'm not going to stress over it anymore.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Re: freaking out!
Usually if the results are bad, you get a call much sooner from the Doctor themselves. I think since it is day 3, I would freak out as much!!! Hopefully you are in the clear!!! But I would definitely call this receptionist back.
Hoping for good results and for you to have a stress free weekend!!

Re: freaking out!
RELAX. DEEP DEEP BREATHES.Ok so they said two days and today is day three. It's not like it's a month later and you're still waiting. I'm sure they're busy, held up, whatever. If you're afraid to miss the call, why not give them your cell number?

Re: freaking out!
Take a deep breath - FM if you wanna talk! I spend every single day of my working life in and out of drs offices and I feel pretty confident saying that the delay in calling back likely has ZERO to do with you! Also, labs are sometimes unreliable in terms of getting results back, etc.
There are SO MANY reasons for the delay...
I can only imagine your anxiety...but try to remain calm...honestly, deep breathing really helps!
I have a doctors appt next week for a similar reason and i'm already freaking out so I don't want you to think I'm just rambling to try and make you feel better!!!

I know!! I don't know what I was thinking when I gave them my work number
Well it's sort of day 3.... I had the blood work done on Tuesday... if it got to the lab Tuesday it's day 3, if it got there on Wed it's day 2
I'm just a wreck....

Thank you, and good luck with your testing as well.
Also I do believe you that the delay probably has nothing to do with me. It's just that being it's Friday I really would like answers before the weekend.. so that's an added stressor.

Re: freaking out!
Ok so maybe the results aren't in yet or just came in and the dr hasn't reviewed yet. I'm sure everything is ok - bad news travels fast!

Re: freaking out!
as the others have said, i doubt the delay has anything to do with the result ... give them another hour or two and then call them back

Re: freaking out!
If it was me...I would just call and say 'Look I'm really sorry -- I don't want to bother you guys but I'm sort of starting to get anxious here and I'm at work (or whatever)... please call me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.'

I really like this. I've actually said almost exactly the same thing with my gyn's office staff in the past and they were totally understanding....

Re: freaking out!
Caalm down! It's not going to make them call you any faster and it's only going to make all the things you've been feeling worse.
