I picked up my albums last night - 8 MONTHS! UGH. I am so excited though because they came out beautiful. Just wanted to share.

A gift certificate to a store, a spa....

How exciting, Kate!

I'm glad you love it! :o)

Is there really a big difference between the quality of the proofs and the end result album photos????

HUGGGE Difference after they are blown up. My flowers were very purple in the proofs and I was upset about that. In my profile you can see how blue they really were and that was the true color. Now that the pictures are blown up, they are bluer, but still not as blue. But I love the pictures and all the green gardens came out where as in the proofs it was dark and black. It's very hard to pick proofs as they are not true to color or lightness. I'm very happy. I hope you get yours soon too.

Thanks Kate. We drop off our proofs tomorrow for the album. It is hard to pick out the pics when you dont know what they are going to look like blown up. I cant wait to see them in the 'real' size.

Not has difficult as you think

Many will be duplicates in which you, he or others may blink, smirk, looking the wrong way, etc...Many will be single shots of 'moments' that you'll automatically chose. In evitably, there will be a few that you'll be torn between...but somehow it will work out. Not to worry :)

Do you get your proofs and/or negatives? You can always make a secondary album with them if you have extras shots that you absolutely love!

Hello Ladies

Karen is right. It's not as hard as you think. Just narrow it down to 100 and then take the best 50 from that. Picture it this way. We picked our favorites and didn't leave a lot of time to think about it. I put all my proofs in a pretty album that is small. It sits on my coffee table so that folks can see it when they stop by. It' s like a little mini wedding album. Although, there is a big difference from when they are small and then enlarged. The big album can also be on the table for a couple of weeks. I personally ordered a smaller album, 8 x 10 so that it could fit on the table and was easy to carry around. For my protrait, I didn't order a 'couple picture'. I ordered a scene of the entire garden with my husband and I walking around the pond. We are in the background walking. The flowers and green are beautiful. That was a 16 x 20. Then I ordered an 8 x 10 portrait of each of us alone to put on either side of the landscape. It's so beautiful. I wanted to do something a little different. I have portraits that I blew up after scanning so I didn't miss out. You can always order extra 8 x 10's etc.

36 pic w/all proofs and negatives *NM*

Just curious to know who did your video? (if you don't mind me asking). I'm curious to know if its the same group as ours...and, more importantly, my sister is shopping for someone for her wedding and if yours was disappointing, I'd like to steer her in a different direction.

50 in album and I get to keep proofs *NM*

this week people actually asked 'how was your first labor day'... We have been together for 7 years and lived together for 5 years before we got married.
Our relationship did not change much, but I think the pressures are off and we are both more relaxed.

Hello Ladies

We just got married 12/15 and picked up our proofs last week. We had 2 photographers and are now trying to sort through the proofs. Any suggestions? It's virtually impossible to choose only 50 photos from a stack of 200 and 25 photos from a stack of 400. What's the best way to do this??

I'm glad everything worked out. I'm also very glad there is a difference between proofs and the album. I'm actuallt picking up the Thank You cards w/ pictures Saturday!!! I can't wait to get started. It's taking us a long time to pick out our album!! I know it takes them 8 months to make too!!

Still didnt pick the pictures

I know some people who take over a year to pick the photos they want to use tin their album. I need to do that and so do my parents and inlaws. I am just pleased that the stress of the wedding is over that i am taking my time. My book has 50 pics and parents have 25 each. We get to keep the proofs.

That stuff should definetely be edited out. You have the right to view it and request changes too. I would if I were you.

Heather - be careful and read your contract. If you wait a full year, most photographers have the right to charge you a percentage more. It is usually stated at the bottom of the contract you signed.
