no- its a giant stadium- all open, on the water. The artists take a boat to get to the backstage area. Its a great place to see a concert- as long as it isnt raining!

but you have actual seats?

*** is there a place on long island for concerts with a lawn? where there's no assigned seats you just sit on the lawn? because i like to move around and air guitar.

yeah- you get actual seats....

umm...I'm not sure about the lawn thing. The only concert I've ever been to that had that was when I went to the Warped Tour on Randalls Island. That was fun!!

There is no place on the Island for that. You need to go to PNC in Jersey (gross, and their security is nasty, but acoustics are good) or Randalls Island, but bands don't really play there too much anymore.

The Warped Tour has been in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot for the past few years...but outside of that, I don't think there are any other GA-only venues..

I don't know if Brookhaven Amphitheater is still around but that place had lots of grass to move around in. When I worked concerts for the radio station (Party 105 and WLIR) they used to do concerts out there all the time.

The Jones Beach small stage off the boardwalk also has no seats but that's mostly coverbands and not really concerts in the summer but that's also fun. I used to do stuff over there with Q104 and we rocked our air guitars during the coverbands performances.
