Can anyone recommend a good photographer who takes color, black and whites and candids. I just havent found anyone yet that I really like yet and I would love some recommendations!

Thanks, Tara

Although my wedding isn't until March (so I can't speak from personal experience - yet!), I hired Cassarino Studios b/c of the reasons you described. Their prices are competitive and their photojournalistic package is only $650. Their # is 1-800-HappyDay - and the web site is www.cassarinostudios.com Ask for Dominick.

They were referred to me by the Milleridge Banquet Office.

I still remember getting an advertising phone call from that place and them leaving a message about RRRRRRRRRomantic Photography--the guy rolled his r so much it was hysterical--my husband still jokes about it. Anyway--they did my SIL's wedding and did a nice job :)

Celebration will begin at seven o'clock in the evening {insert name of reception location, city and state)

Hi Tara: I hired Rick & Co. out of Sayville. There is another bride on here who also loves his work and his attitude. Very pleasant, laid back and nice stuff. His package is $3,200.00 for photo and video.

I never saw the facility so I can't comment further. I hope they're nicer to him & your future sister-in-law.....

Glad to hear they did a good job - they seem very professional & detail oriented.

Tara, that line-up was exactly what I was looking for in a photographer, too. I racked my brain looking and calling all of Long Island :-)

I gave Mark Kauffman a call and reviewed his services. His studio was exactly what I was looking for! GREAT pictures, professional service, creative element, a flexible payment plan, and a wonderful photographer named Tony. I love their unique approach to weddings...not the standard posed shots and packages that every other wedding place was pushing down my throat. UGH!

I was so relieved I found his studio, and I am so excited to see the final product. Too bad I have almost a year to wait :-)

Thanks everyone for your imput. I will definitely look in to those photographers. They sound like exactly what i'm looking for!

If you can give us a price range--type of ambiance you want--location(nassau or suffolk)and how many people you are having we can come up with some great places for you to check out :).....

I got this formula from USABride.com. They have a tip of the day that you can have sent to your e-mail if you want. If not you can just get on their site and look at the tips. Some of their ideas are pretty good.

we are using glenmar studios in roslyn...they do everything. If it helps, i saw about 12 photographers before i picked them. my whole package, which is a ton of stuff plus three videos, is coming to about $3400. Check them out, good luck!

I'd never heard of that place but will be sure to visit it soon! Thanks - as always - for your words of wisdom! Much appreciated!

Boy does it sound like we have similair taste LOL I got them at FantasyLand in Patchogue. There are different price ranges depending on what kind of stem you want. I think mine were less than $1 because I decorated them myself. You should take a ride out there, they would definitely have frames too. I planned half of my wedding from that place! Gina :)

Karen We are going to Cassarino on Thur-- we are getting married at the Cottage and love the work they have done there- would you mind telling me what your package included? any info before we go would be great Feel free to email me or post on here Thanks in advance Laura

I'm sure we have all had problems with e-mail. Aside from getting a thought into words, there are many elements missing from an e-mail that a telephone call or personal conversation have, such as, a persons tone of voice, body and facial expressions etc.

Your suggested tip sheet is a great idea. There is no discussion between you and the client, just something for them to think about and use at their own discretion.

laura- cassarino is the photographer recommended by Jericho Terrace also, there pictures look beautiful. please also let me know what you find out as well, and packages/prices. thanks

On another note, we also debated about response cards. Since I'm the one doing all the preparations I had wanted the responses to come directly to me. That didn't seem appropriate if we use the traditional wording on the invite. So, response cards are now going to my parents. Then I'll get them from them. Not my ideal choice, but it's not worth an arguement.
