Re: Alright, be Honest Ladies--MOB Dress Question
It is so funny cause my frineds and I where just talking about this over lunch yesterday. The verdict - guests at the weddign wearing black = OK. Moms = No. But that was just our opinions.

Re: Alright, be Honest Ladies--MOB Dress Question
I personally am not a big fan of all black for a wedding. I would much prefer black with an accent color, like you mentioned. IMO black is also more appropriate for an evening, formal affair...

Re: Alright, be Honest Ladies--MOB Dress Question
Thanks again everyone!! I really don't mind it if she gets black---she has a dark complextion (italian) so it looks amazing on her--and when you look @ it--you see so much silver accenting, it's not like WOW That dress is BLACK!!! If I know my mom, as much as she loves this dress, she will probably nix the black---I don't think she thinks she is gutsy enough to actually do it and not be worried the entire day what everyone is saying!! LOL I am definetely showing her all these replies! thanks girls! You're the best!

Re: Alright, be Honest Ladies--MOB Dress Question
My Mom will not wear black, but if she really wanted to I would not try to stop her. I think that it also depends on where and what time you are having the wedding. We are having our ceremony outdoors during the day so black really would not be appropriate. If we were having a very formal evening affair I think black would look lovely.

my mom wore black velvet to mine and i told her i heard it meant that the mob is not happy for the marriage ifthey were black and was told that was a bunch of crap. she should wear what ever color looks flattering on her. we did a black tie affair so it was appropriate.
