its like theres nothing else going in the world except her pregnancy!!!
To me it sounds like there is nothing else in the world except your wedding.
I think you should be gracious and have the baby there. Your sister will be distracted without him and not be able to enjoy herself. It's one thing if it was a baby cousin, but this is your nephew. Don't you think that all these happy occasions in your family (babies, weddings) should be celebrated together? You're so lucky to have all these happy things occurring in your family. Celebrate them instead of dwelling on the negative!

thats so not the case. unfortunately my sister has been uncooperative about my wedding since even before she got prego. now its almost as if theres nothing going on except her pregnancy. maybe if my sister wasn't so anti-wedding from day 1 then i wouldn't be feeling the way i am.

It stinks that she wasn't into it, but you also have to realize that this is a new life, a new member if your family. You need to put aside the hurt feelings you have for your sister and be the better person. It is not the baby's fault. I understand you are hurt, but she probably feels that all you think about is her wedding. There are two sides to every story!

That is unfortunate that she's not into it. However, as I stated above, come the day of your shower, your sister having her newborn baby with her will not even be a thought in your mind. It's up to you if you allow this one small thing to upset you and not enjoy your shower. And yes, in the grand scheme of things...it is a small thing.

there is 2 sides 2 every story and the other side is my sister got married in the bahamas 3 years ago on the same day my FH's best friend did. so i did the right thing and chose to go to my sisters wedding even though fh's friend had his planned first. i paid for my own room air and food the whole time i was there. i enjoyed helping her go dress shopping prior to the wedding i even wanted to throw her a bach party but she didn't want one. now that its my turn every single time i ask her to do something wedding related she says no. even now when she needs me to go baby shopping for anything i do it. why? unfortunately my sister's very selfish.

I hate to be REAL but the baby will totally take away from your day. And I agree with an above poster, a one month old has no business being around that many people! They have barley any immunities yet. Tell your sister it is not worth bringing the baby due to this reason, but tell her to bring a bunch of pics! Hope this goes over well with her!![]()
I completely agree with Ryan here...you know as much as it is your day, your fam and Friends are going to go CRAZY over the new born....1- really not good for the baby....2- definitely going to take away from your day. The pictures thing is a good idea because people will just look, and then turn the focus back to you.....where as if the little whipper snapper was there, every yawn will draw the oohs and aahs that you and your gifts should be earning!!

HMMMM...........well--- its a tough decision...I AGREE all around
my sister brought her baby to a shower- last year- and it was supposed to be NO BABIES
she did it anyway-
as for you... you may be better off just letting her, make your life easier...... the baby will be asleep the whole time anyway!!!
GOOD LUCK- we are all here~~~

Re: am i being a bridezilla for telling my sister she can't bring her month old baby to my shower???
Okay... DON'T GET PISSED AT ME... I took my infant to my best friend's bridal shower. He was 3 months old and my sisters and my FH and my mother were all going to be at the shower (it was Jack and Jill) so I didn't have anyone to watch him. I was NOT going to hire a strange kid for the day. I told my best friend that if having him there upset her I would be willing to come, set up the event and leave once she got there so that there wouldn't be too much fuss. She told me that she wanted my son to be there - so it was all settled happily. But the shower and wedding mean different things to different brides. And I do understand that you don't want her to take your thunder. And it is your day and if you don't want your niece or nephew there, you should just tell your sister and hope that she will understand.
No matter what happens - you will have a great shower and you will marry the love of your life not too long after that!

Re: am i being a bridezilla for telling my sister she can't bring her month old baby to my shower???
I have to disagree with you...I could not imagine telling my sister that she would not be allowed to bring my neice or nephew to my shower. I have a sister that s pregnant with her first child and of course she talks about the baby a lot - its her unborn child!!!! I am sorry if I sound a bit rude - but I know that I speak about my upcoming wedding a lot, I can't even imagine how much I would speak to my sisters about having my first child. I would think it were weird if a conversation went by and my sister didn't bring up her unborn baby. I think that it would be avery bridezilla move to say that. It is difficult for new mothers to leave their young baby and I'm sure she would not want to be faced with having to ake a decision of being with her child or attending your bridal shower solo.

Re: am i being a bridezilla for telling my sister she can't bring her month old baby to my shower???
once my sister had the baby, id let her see how she felt about it then and go from there. id leave it up to her to decide if she thought it was a bad idea, JMO. i would never think of it as taking away from the day. i love my niece and nephews and they make all our special events that much brighter. i wouldnt want my shower w/o them. we talk about what brings us joy in our lives, for us its wedding, for her baby. id try to be as understanding as possible about this one. to be honest, id be really hurt if my sister told me i couldnt bring my baby to her shower.totally agree w/ post above!

Re: am i being a bridezilla for telling my sister she can't bring her month old baby to my shower???
My sister is due on April 15th. Our wedding is on May 12th.....so my neice will be just under 1 month old.My FH and I don't really want to have children at our wedding at all. We're not even having ring bearers or flowergirls. We LOVE children more than you can imagine, but for our wedding, we just didnt' think it was the place for them.
BUT, if it came to the point to where I had to make the decision of my sister bringing her 3.5 week old to the wedding so she can enjoy the day too, or having her not attend becuase of the baby, I would not even hesitate with my decision ..... she would be at our wedding with baby........
And the same thing would be if it was my bridal shower. I mean, they want to celebrate with you as much as you want them to be there.......
I know everyone is different and has their own point of veiw on this subject, which is great!
I know in the end you'll make the decision that is right for YOU
But whatever you decide to do, just be sure to throughly think about it......not just how your decision will affect you in the present.....but how you will feel about your deicision in the future too.......
