Re: Are you taking your FH's last name?

On the marriage license I hyphenated.
I haven't changed anything legally - and
probably won't rush to do it.
Will keep my name professionally
and am ok with social reference as Mrs. --
.
Hubby ok with my decision - I didn't ask him to change his name, so he couldn't require me to change mine.
.
Different strokes for different folks.

Re: Are you taking your FH's last name?

I am not changing it. I like my last name and see no reason to switch. we'll figure out the kid thing when we get to that stage. as for people thinking he is a bf and not a husband, who cares? in this day and age of step-parents, 2nd and 3rd families, 1/2 siblings, etc., very few families have simple, consistent last names.

Re: Are you taking your FH's last name?

i'm taking his last name...i've been looking forward to taking his name since we got engaged..my dad has two sons so its not that my name is going to end with me..plus i want our kids (when that time comes) to have his last name...he's the only boy and i feel strongly about not having his last name end with him

Re: Are you taking your FH's last name?

I'm on the fence about changing it. I feel like my name is 'me' and his name isn't. I keep telling myself I will grow into it if I change it and after awhile I will feel like the new name is 'me'.

Yes, I am changing it to my FH's last name. It's a long last name, but I am still changing it.

Re: Are you taking your FH's last name?

Changing mine.

My name is a very common Irish name and I'm always running into problems, especially at the doctors office! It's common and easy to pronounce, which I'll miss, but I can't wait to be a Mrs!

I don't plan to change mine.

A few ppl say it's a hassle when you have kids. Like people will think he is your boyfriend, not husband.

Thoughts???

I'm taking his last name, but keeping my middle name.
