Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

it was a little bit of a chore but i held off for as long as possible and had my sis (MOH) and another BM hold my dress for me while I went and then i didn't go again until after the reception. i almost thought about taking it off since it would have been so much easier but they said not to so i didn't. and let me tell you we have pics to prove it since my aunt was in taking pics of the bathroom basket from the photo scavenger hunt so she snapped a few of me using the restroom

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I can hold it for hours, so I dont think I'll have a problem but when my best friend got married I had to hold her dress up while she did her 'business'. So much dress I could't see anything and it was still private!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I had a huge gown and it was no big problem. I just turned around and faced the wall and had someone help keep my dress off the floor

I was in the BP and the bride had to pee. Luckily, the dress wasn't that heavy so it only took one BM to help her. That way I was free to laugh and snap pics!

(not sure if the pic will work but i put in into an album just in case)

This is what I meant by facing the toilet. Then your dress won't fall in the bowl!

LOL, This is the whole reason I ordered a sheath dress. I went into the stores saying 'show me dresses I can pee in'!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

Thankfully I only had to go once and it was right before the ceremony was about to start. I had my MOH help me and I faced the toilet and she held up my dress in the front. I had a huge ballgown, so there was no other way around this. We cracked up the entire time.

BUT she HAD to return the favor, because at her wedding, I had to help her go to the bathroom. She sat normally, but was holding on to the walls of the stall while I held up her dress. Still funny times.

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I can honestly say this was my absolute biggest fear on my wedding day. I have IBS and the thought of being in a poofy dress and running to the bathroom every hour, like usual days scared me to death. But on the day of, I did not have to go until maybe the last hour of the reception for the first time all day. I was way to busy to go. But when I did, I went in by myself to the enormous bathroom in the bridal suite. I locked the door to the suite, unzipped the back of my dress, stepped out of my dress, which with the big poofy skirt stood there on its own, went to the potty and stepped back into it. It was sooo easy!!! If you have to go, don't worry about it, it will be a piece of cake.

I only had to go to the bathroom once and I have to say I couldn't have done it with out my MOH. She came in with me and held up my dress for me ( I did the rest).

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I am the only person that didn't know about the sitting backward thing?!!

I had to go twice. The 1st time my BA helped and she was a pro. The 2nd time was during the after-party and my DH helped and we were laughing really hard it was hilarious and so romantic

but seriously that was one of my favorite moments the entire night!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

This was a big issue for me since my Aunt Flo decided to visit for my wedding and it was one of her strong days. I had to go 4 times during the reception.

The first time I went I had my two BMs and the bridal attendant holding up my dress while I changed my tampon. It was VERY uncomfortable and awkward.

The other three times I decided to just take off my dress and crinoline slip and go, but my BMs were having such a good time dancing that I just went in with the bridal attendant and my DOC and essentially stripped naked (I wasn't wearing a bra since I had cups sewn into the dress). It was more embarrassing, but it was a lot quicker and I was less likely to have an accident.

I can laugh about it now, thank goodness.

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I was my sister's bathroom helper. I just helped her with her dress at potty time. We just held it above her head and she was good to go.
