Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

i don't think it's necessary to tip the priest...
or the organist...(i'm already giving them $450 combined...)

maybe the altar kids...$5 each should do it...

i'm not having a singer (well, the organist sings, does that count?)...a violinist or a bagpiper...

Same with me. I only tipped the alter servers.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

You do not need to tip the priest. I am only paying extra for the soloist. So I am not tipping anyone at the church.

That's all I plan on doing.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

we tipped the priest $50 and the altar boys $10 each. That day there was only one altar boy there though so we gave him both envelopes.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

My two little cousins want to serve our mass so I have to push for that. I will get them a little gift. My best friend is going to sing with her fiance (she is the head of the chorus) so I will give them a check for maybe 50 bucks to contribute to the chorus group.

My situation is weird though. I have been a CCD teacher for 7 years at my parish so they are paying for our mass. I am going to give them something and I will hand it to the priest.

We're tipping the alter boys and giving the priest a gift. He's a personal friend of the family.

I think we are only tipping the alter boys as well. The priest 'suggested' $20 for each boy.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

We're making a donation to the church for $100 on top of the price it costs to have the wedding there. I'm giving it to the priest, although I am not considering it a tip.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

Besides the fact that the church is charging us a ridiculous fee of $700.00, I don't feel a tip is necessary. What ever happened to the church serving the community and not charging an arm and a leg. No TIP

Your so lucky!! But then again, you've volunteered your services for so long. I guess they want to show their appreciation. I really hope your cousins get to serve. That would be soo cool.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

$20 for each alter boy is a good tip for them. They will be happy with that.

The only tip they are getting from me is to lower the fee they charge to hold a wedding there.

Re: catholic girls how much did you tip the priest?

I didn't tip anyone at the church. We were supposed to pay $675 in fees. The church fee got waived b/c they didn't finish the construction on the front steps as they had promised.

We didn't have any altar servers, but if we did, I guess we would have tipped them.
