We didn't invite everyone with a guest only if they were married, engaged, or steady partner. My stepsister has flavors of the week there was no way I was going to invite a guest she won't even cover her plate let alone one of her flings. Is that mean?

I invited everyone with a guest...and that added a lot to my guest list...but when the final count came in...most people did not bring one - if they weren't dating

only those who were in a devoted relationship.

same as dusksgirl....only those who had a steady B/f G/f or.... if they wanted to bring someone I knew (as a casual acquaintance) and if they didn't know anyone else there.

We invited everyone with husband/wife, finance, or serious significant other. We had many people at the wedding with no guest. We did give them the option of bringing one if they really wanted to. However, many of their attitudes was 'Since there is a good amount of people going single , so will I, I don't want to occupy anyone.' It actaully worked out very well.

Some people we gave the option of bringing a guest, particularly the ones who wouldn't really know anyone else. Most of our guests are married, though. We actually had to not let some of FH's friends bring guests because of space/$$$ issues, so instead they will all sit together - they have been friends since HS so they are ok with it.

Altho it ballooned our guest list, we invited everyone with a guest. I've spoken to a few of our guests & they've indicated they'll probably come solo (& we haven't sent out invites yet!), but appreciate the offer.

& guess I got lucky cuz a few said they wouldn't bring anyone knowing how expensive weddings are & didn't wanna waste $$ since they're not in a serious relationship so I was glad I let them make that decision & not me.

Only ones we invited without a guest are a few older folks who we know for a fact don't have a partner.

But also know I didn't appreciate it when I was invited to weddings without a guest. Depending on how well you know the other guests it can be very lonely.
