There were couple of things I wanted when I was looking at halls1. Outdoor Cocktail hour
2. One wedding at a time
3. Good Price
4. Availability (Sat night in May or June)
And the winner was MILLERIDGE COTTAGE.
There are a couple of things I wish I could change like their bathrooms.
But overall, I knew that was the place when we first saw it. We booked the same day.
Good luck!

I took a chance on my hall, I saw it advertised on here, and never heard of it before. The pic for it wasn't that impressive, but I made an appointment and when I walked in and saw the ballroom, I fell in love! So did FH! It's not a fancy place, but the room is huge, and when it's set up for a party its gorgeous! They told us the first time that they were going to build an outside CH and ceremony area, and we loved that idea. We came back one more time w/ our parents, to see what they thought and we were told that they might not have the outside area done, but they would set up chairs and an arch for us anywhere we wanted for our ceremony, so that was great! That same night, we went to an expo where my hall had food to taste, and that's when we made the final decision. The food was out of this world, and everything just came together once we booked there! We looked at no more than 10 places, and that was the only place that I walked into and loved immediatly. Plus, they have been extremely attentive to me, their service so far has been excellent. They are very into building up their business, but at the same time they really care how you feel. I didn't get that feeling from any other place. PM didn't make me feel like I should feel lucky to have my wedding there or something, like the other places did. So far, they have been excellent, and I'm so excited to have my wedding there!

Our hall search priorities went out the window when we decided on the East Wind.We wanted a room with a view (waterfront, golf course, etc)
Not at East Wind
We wanted outdoor ceremony
We had to change our date to get the hall to March
We wanted cheap
We are waaay overbudget
1 wedding at a time
East Wind can have 5 at a time (10 per day!)
We fell in love and really invisioned our wedding there so the other stuff didnt matter anymore. I guess you could say we just knew.

We originally wanted a richly colored (no pastels or white fixtures!) place that only held one wedding at a time, that wasn't on a main road (or was and had a long driveway like Westbury Manor), and that didn't have a golf course or other areas open to the public. After we visited our hall - we knew immediately that it was the hall for us and it met almost all of our criteria. I can deal with the idea that another wedding is taking place there.

We went to numerous halls, but the Riviera is the only one that really made us feel like we wanted our wedding there. We wanted 1 wedding at a time and didn't want a place any of our friends had used.

I think it just felt right. The only things I really wanted was a Sat day and to be the only wedding. They had both. We went to a total of 3 halls and this one just stood out. I also loved that George senior was the General Manager at the place my parent's were married at 34 years ago. and people still talk about how great that wedding was!Welcome New Vendors
