'Harper Family'
Even as leader Ty undergoes 'Extreme' emergency surgery, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition builds its largest home yet for an Atlanta family whose house had nightmare plumbing problems. Unaware of any problems when they purchased the home, the Harpers soon found themselves knee-high in raw sewage. Every time it rained hard -- which was often -- their septic tank would back up and human waste actually flooded their suburban home.
The Harpers have been living in and out of their minivan because of bacteria in the house, not to mention the horrible stench that has damaged their possessions. Their furniture, clothes and even their dreams have all been ruined. Ty guides the Design Team from his hospital bed, while comedian Jeff Foxworthy stops by to lend a helping hand to the Harpers.

ABC's 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' star Ty Pennington was recovering at his Atlanta home Wednesday from an emergency appendectomy.
The former 'Trading Spaces' handyman and author of the 2003 New York Times bestseller 'Ty's Tricks' was in Atlanta during the weekend when he became ill and was taken Saturday to a hospital where doctors removed the organ, E! Online reported.
Pennington expressed determination to continue helping the show's latest beneficiaries get their expected residential upgrade, despite his appendectomy.
'I don't want to let the family down, and all of us with the show want to give them the new house they deserve,' Pennington said in a statement.
'Thanks to phones and emails, I will be able to maintain my part by giving input to the other designers and discussing our plans for the house. I am just so glad this happened in Atlanta, where I have so much support from my family and friends.'

My cousin bumped into him near her home (she lives in Hawaii) and he took pictures with her and her kids. She said he was a really nice guy and had a very pretty girlfriend!
