I guess my guests can go home and relax for a while b4 the reception.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS???
(opinions please)
Same thing with me...church was booked for 3:00 timeslot so I booked for 1:30. It is an hour long so that leaves 3 hrs. till CH...but whatever what am I gonna do. Guests can go home if they like or as someone else mentioned a drink. I personally aren't too crazy of long gaps but it happens. It's kinda good for me it gives me a lot of time for pics and to enjoy CH and relax in the bridal suite. Kimmy I say don't worry.

Our ceremony is at 3:00 and right now cocktail hour is scheduled for 6:00, but I think I'm moving it to 6:30. I don't like gaps either, but I really want to be able to make it to at least part of my cocktail hour (& I want the BP to be able to enjoy the CH too) so we should have time for pictures in between.

Is this bad: My church is at 130 and my CH is at 630. I live in Staten Island so therefore the church is in SI and the reception is in LI...Do u think thats tooooo long of a gap?
I don't think that's bad at all imagine the traffic on the belt pkwy. on the weekend. This way you have plenty of time to take pics and people can go home and change(guests who came to the church casual). I wish I had a bigger gap between.

Re: For all brides getting married in a church: What time is your ceremony and Cocktail hour?
ceremony 4pm CH starts at 8pm. Now I'm wondering if that's enough time. It's a40 min drive from my church to the hall, and I'm going there directly to take pictures. SO Let's say mass finishes at 4:45pm and we leave at 5pm, we get to the hall for 6pm and then that leaves 2 hours for pictures. Ok, I guess we should be fine. We're taking all our pictures after the ceremony.

There is always traffic on the Belt Parkway...you never know when there will be an accident or they are doing road work. Not to scare you or anything......I make that drive everyday. Better safe than sorry with the BELT!!

Re: For all brides getting married in a church: What time is your ceremony and Cocktail hour?
We're doing at 4pm ceremony (which should last an hour) and a 7pm CH, although it will say 6:30 on the invite as that is the time the Carltun will begin letting people in and giving them drinks. The drive from the church to the Carltun is about 25 minutes. We're only taking pics at the church and the Carltun, so getting to the CH shouldn't be an issue. We'll probably miss some of our CH, but as long as we make it for a little bit, we'll be happy.
