04/10/11 - WGP cocktail: Briar Fox (reception)...

before my guest went through the roof, my reception was in WPG.

I love the WPG but didn't want to stuff 130 ppl in there so i went to the Briar Fox.

are any of you fox hollow brides adding an extra 1/2 hr to CH or RECEPTION? and know how much it is????

If you're evening and doing a VH, the half hour overtime is included. Not sure what it would cost without the VH.

As far as the CH goes, the BM who we booked with told us that they'd let the CH run 15-30 minutes over. I'm actually going to ask them if they'll let people in 15 minutes earlier and not wrap it up too late.

I just wanted to really add more time to the CH being that is a fri night wedding, I dont want people to miss it.

Me too!! I called and the first bride is the end of April so we will probably take a trip over there in May to see what the room actually looks like!! Have you booked any of your vendors yet?

Did anyone go to their cake tasting yet? If so, what flavors would you recommend and which ones would you stay away from? Also, do you know how much for upgrades?

Their red velvet is VERY good. Everything was yummy - we ordered a small cake to try b/c it wasn't one of the options with the trial. It's almond flavored (instead of vanilla) with a raspberry filling and a little bit of custard.

FYI my shower cake was also from there...devils food cake with hazelnut mousse. Definitely my favorite ever...just didn't want to do chocolate for the wedding.

Don't know about the upgrade pricing!

Fox Hollow has a book of cakes, but also, they say if you take a picture to Francescos they can see if they can do it, and let you know any additional cost

As far as cakes are concerned, the standard upgrades (I think) are $100 for carrot or red velvet cake and $300 for fondant. I would definitely go see Franco in person to discuss what you're looking for because he may be able to work with you a bit on price. We're having strawberry shortcake for the wedding cake and chocolate cake with peanut butter mouse for the grooms cake (which my bratty FH came right out and asked for, lol.)

The cake is delicious and Franco is so proud of his business and very helpful. Enjoy and good luck!
