So excited to be part of this forum. I'm getting married at Fox Hollow on September 1st 2011. The reception's at the WGP!

I really want to have a red velvet cake with white fondant and little purple polka dots!

At what point are you supposed to meet with Fox Hollow for your cake tasting? (how far in advance?) And do they contact you to remind you? (I'm such an amateur!)

Fox Hollow doesn't do cake tastings- you need to meet with the bakery (I think it's now Francisco's? Correct me if I'm wrong!) if you want to do a tasting. When you sit down with Fox Hollow to pick the menu, linens and all that stuff, they will ask you what flavor and type of cake you chose. If you did not go to the bakery before this meeting, Fox Hollow has a book of cake designs that you can choose from but then you'll miss out of tasting the flavors!

Hope this helps! I only found this out from reading the main Fox Hollow forum, but even that is a little outdated since the bakery changed.

I just checked out your album (cake looks amazing) . On a side note, your engagement shoot is STUNNING!!!! Where exactly was the location? Your photographer did an amazing job!

Did anyone or is anyone planning on using uplighting?? If so, who are you using and if you don't mind me asking, how much are they charging you (and for which room)? I'm not sure if I want the uplighting yet for the Briar Fox room.

im in the winter garden pavillion and im using uplighting from my dj company (Variety Music). i just feel because of the glass ceilings (which is what made me fall in love with the room in the first place) and the reception being at night in october it might be dark without extra lighting. im going to softly uplight the room in amber and have lots and lots of candles on the tables

We did our shoot at Robert Moses field 5 beach/lighthouse.

PS cake tasting is free and they give you a huge selection with coffee :)

Try Sandra Baldini for makeup.. She travels to Fox Hollow often to do makeup for brides there. I have pictures of my trial in my photo album
