Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Irene. When you got married, did you have a primarily Greek band at you wedding & if so, were the non-Greek guests bored, or do you feel they found the music very entertaining. I'm concerned that all my colleagues will be bored at my wedding, since they are not Greek.

Re: Greek Brides??
It was primarily greek for most of the evening. I would say out of 5 hours, the band played approximately 40 minutes of american music. Most of our non-greek friends (which were only a handful) danced to the greek music too. I think they had fun or at least they said they did.

We're doing the same thing, but I'm just so worried that our non-Greek guests will be bored out of their minds while the Greek music is playing!
ETA - St. Paraskevi is such a beautiful church, my cousin goes there and it's so warm & welcoming.

They will NOT be bored. DH is Greek and I am not. We had a Greek band and a DJ who played only American music and EVERYONE danced. The non Greeks at the wedding were dancing to Greek music ALL night. I couldn't believe it. DH and I even got compliments about the band and how much fun it was from the non-greeks. Additionally, one of DH's bosses loved the Greek music so much that he went the next day and bought a few Greek CDs Don't worry, greek dancing is lots of fun. Everyone will dance.
BTW, I love your pics. You and your FH make a great looking couple. Thanks for sharing.
ETA: I truly believe that what is important is that you and your DH be on the dance floor a lot. That keeps the crowd going. I went to a wedding where the bride and groom did not dance at all and none of their guests really danced.

Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Marcela!I can't believe that you've been married for close to 2 months already, my wedding is the same weekend as yours (next year of course)& I can't believe how the months are flying by!
I was thinking of going to Flowerama to look for my dress & Georgia mentioned that's where you purchased yours from. Do you have any tips? Anyone in specific I should deal with?

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi Eleni, I don't think any of the girls are in Greece, I think Georgia is studying for the bar, if I remember correctly she's taking it this week & Angela is probably busy settling into her new place, but where is everyone else?Irene, Marcela?
I have been so busy these past 2 weeks, I've been finalizing my applications for grad school, I'm happy to announce that just a few minutes ago, I fedexed everything out, I'm so relieved.
Do you have any plans for the rest of the summer?

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls - I was just wondering about the mother/son dance. Is there any Greek song that could be used other than 'Mana Mou'? That's the song they have played at every Greek wedding I have ever gone to and I can't think of anything else to use instead.TIA!
