Did you try monofilament edged organza ribbon? It may give you the look you like and it makes a very small knot when you make the bow. We are using it for my daughter's favors and it's beautiful. We paid something like $2 for a 25 yard roll.

Did you get a sample of the invitation? Some companies sell them, I think. It may be easier to copy if you have one in front of you.
Also, I hate to sound negative, because they are very beautiful, but will the paper band hold up through the mail? Some of our response cards came back dirty and slightly torn by the flaps. Just some things to consider.

I don't think you should compare it to something being tossed in the garbage. I was so put off when people would say that to me. For one, *I'M* not tossing it - so I want something that I love...especially if it will be photographed.

Personally, I look at invitations as the first peek into the affair. They really set a tone, imo.

If it's in your budget and they are something that you really love, go for it.

I agree. I spent quite alot on my invites. If you like it and it fits into your budget, forget what everyone else says.

I am soooo torn!!! thank you everyone for all your help! you dont know how much I appreciate it!!!
FH is on his way home now.... i'll let you know how it goes after he sees it... so far he hasnt complained at all!! hes actually pushing it!! I really do wonder what the heck got him in such a good mood today

I just ordred Elite invitations too, i wasn't sure if i wanted to spend that much but then i decided i loved the invitations so much i decided to get them. You can always cut back on something else. Here are teh ones i picked:

I think so. Mine were almost exactly the price you quoted in your first post.
Maybe try shopping around to see if you can find someone that will give you a discount. Look online as well. Every little bit helps!

Is it in your budget? If yes then go for it..if it is WAY over your budget then no, its really not worth it...I am printing my own and they are costing me less then $100 for 100....And to be honest yours look nicer and more elegant but not $900 more elegant...
I think it all depends on your budget truly...

I know for me personally, I have saved every single wedding invitation I've ever received. The only pieces I don't save are the outer envelope because it gets ripped and the response card - cause I think the bride would be a little irritated with me if I did that.

I don't think it's completely unreasonable for invitations- How many do you need ?? -
If you LOVE them, and you can AFFORD them - that's JUSTIFICATION to get them ! (if it's going to take you 8 months to pay them off as the interest on you credit card piles up - that's another story !) - I say go for it !

They're very pretty but for that price? I don't know.......maybe you can find something similar (or replicate yourself?) for much cheaper.

They are nice though!

Its nice- but its an invitation. People will throw it away. I wouldn't waste my $ on invites. JMO!
