I just ordred Elite invitations too, i wasn't sure if i wanted to spend that much but then i decided i loved the invitations so much i decided to get them. You can always cut back on something else. Here are teh ones i picked:

I know they were cheaper then yours i ordered 175 of them, i haven't gotten teh bill for them yet, i used the party planner at the watermill and shes sending me the bill.Don't qoute me but i think they were around 1500 before the discount. All the elite invitations are up there in price.

i used elite as well. i had a different design though and they came out to $750. if your looking for another price quote, i got mine at the writing place in stony brook.

and.........i'd get them. they really do set the tone of the wedding. jmo

You could get another, very similar invite and just TIE A RIBBON TO IT - you're gonna have to tie the ribbon anyway. I fell in love with invites out of my price range and I ended up making them, and they came out amazing, if i do say so myself.

IMO, I don't think the price is completely unreasonable. they may be higher priced than most, but if you LOVE them then go for it. don't settle for somethig that you might regret later.

i LOVE them and you should go w/ your heart and what you can afford. don't base your decision other peoples opinions.

remember the invitation sets the tone for the whole wedding. if you want, compare the quality to lower priced invitiations. although it may not be huge, there is a difference.

i think that if you can afford it and you cant find anything else that is cheaper that compares then your should get them, i think that you sholuldnt look at it as something someone is going to throw in the garbage but the first thing that people will see representing your big day.

Actually they come pre-assembled that was a big plus!!! Thanks everyone for your input

BUT... we have made a decision... AND WERE GETTING THEM!!!!

If you can afford it-go for it. I spent nearly $1,000 on my invites when all was said and done and I love them and I got soooo many compliments on them!
